The nominations were announced on July 9, 2024. However, on August 18, affected parties were quietly informed that the event would be temporarily shelved. A public announcement was ultimately released via the Hollywood Creative Alliance social media account on Twitter at 6:39 p.m. PDT, informing users that "due to a recent emergency, the Astra TV Awards have been postponed" and "a new date will be announced shortly". The postponement came weeks after a proposed partnership with GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.
