The 3rd Astra TV Awards, presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, initially scheduled to take place on August 12 and 13, 2023, took place on January 8, 2024, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, and streamed live on YouTube. Additionally, this was the first year where these nominations were announced alongside the inaugural Astra Creative Arts TV Awards nominations. [13] The live-streamed event was broadcast globally, beginning at 6:30 p.m. PDT/9:30 p.m. EDT. [14] The alliance also revealed a new partnership with ABS-CBN, who served as the global broadcast partner for the HCA Astra TV Awards and HCA Astra Film Awards. Both ceremonies aired in 247 countries and territories in addition to the live stream on the official HCA YouTube channel and KNEKT.tv. [15] Furthermore, the combined Astra Creative Arts TV Awards and Astra Film Creative Arts Awards ceremonies will both take place at City Market Social House in Los Angeles on February 26. [14]

In terms of the main television awards, Yellowjackets led the nominations with 11, followed by Party Down with 10; Abbott Elementary and The Boys received nine each. [9] Channelwise, Netflix led the nominations with 39, followed by Hulu with 33; HBO and Apple TV+ followed with 31 and 29, respectively. This year, the Astra TV Awards spread across 25 Broadcast and Cable, 22 Streaming, and 26 Creative Arts categories. [9]

The Hollywood Creative Alliance (HCA) is a 501 c6 membership-based non-profit organization of critics, entertainment journalists, content creators, industry influencers, and creatives. The vision and mission of the HCA is to amplify diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and culture within the world of entertainment. It was founded in 2016 as the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society and renamed in 2019 to Hollywood Critics Association. In 2023, Hollywood Critics Association ceased operations and a new organization called Hollywood Creative Alliance took its place, with its awards called the Astra Awards.

However, due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County and the US, the ceremony was delayed a week and the broadcast was originally supposed to be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles on August 22, 2021.

The 2nd Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards, presented by the Hollywood Critics Association, took place on August 13 and 14, 2022, at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California, and streamed live on YouTube. The two-night event focused on broadcast network and cable awards on the 13th and streaming platforms on the 14th; Dulcé Sloan hosted on night one and Cameron Esposito hosted on night two. 60 categories were handed out, including new categories dedicated to directing, writing, short-form and international series. The 6th Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards, presented by the Hollywood Critics Association, took place on the evening of February 24, 2023, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills, while the winners of the 1st Hollywood Critics Association Creative Arts Film Awards were announced earlier that day via social media platforms. The nominations for both events were announced on the HCA official YouTube channel and app on December 8 and December 15, 2022, respectively; Jalyn Hall, Jude Hill, and Madeleine McGraw announced the December 15 nominations.

The 1st Hollywood Critics Association Creative Arts Awards, presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, took place on February 24, 2023. The winners were announced on the official HCA Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, while the 6th Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards took place on the same day at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills. Tiny Beautiful Things is an American comedy drama television miniseries that premiered on Hulu on April 7, 2023. It is based on the 2012 book of the same name by Cheryl Strayed. It has been adapted by Liz Tigelaar and produced by Best Day Ever Productions, Jaywalker Pictures, Hello Sunshine, and ABC Signature. It received generally positive reviews from critics.

The 1st Astra Creative Arts TV Awards, presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, recognized and celebrated outstanding achievements in television across various genres. The winners were announced on January 8, 2024, alongside the 3rd Astra TV Awards. The creative arts awards were created as a companion to the Astra TV Awards to reward specific technical categories as well as categories that were previously presented at the main ceremony in 2021 and 2022.

The 7th Astra Film Awards, presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, took place on January 6, 2024, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. It was produced by Content.23 Media, DIGA Studios, and Vox Productions. The nominations were announced live on the official HCA YouTube channel on December 7, 2023.

The 2nd Astra Film Creative Arts Awards, presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, were announced on January 6, 2024, to recognize technical achievements in films of 2023. The ceremony will take place on February 26, 2024, at City Market Social House in Los Angeles, California.
