The 34th General Assembly of Prince Edward Island was in session from March 19, 1901, to November 9, 1904. The Liberal Party led by Donald Farquharson formed the government. In December 1901, Arthur Peters became Liberal party leader and Premier.

The 35th General Assembly of Prince Edward Island was in session from February 8, 1904, to October 15, 1908. The Liberal Party led by Arthur Peters formed the government. On February 1, 1908, Francis Haszard became Liberal party leader and Premier after Peters died in office.

The 36th General Assembly of Prince Edward Island was in session from February 2, 1908, to December 5, 1911. The Liberal Party led by Francis Haszard formed the government. After Haszard accepted an appointment to the province's Supreme Court, Herbert James Palmer became Liberal party leader and Premier in May 1911; when he ran for reelection on November 15, 1911, he was defeated and the Liberals lost their majority, forcing an election.

John Alexander Dewar was a farmer and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 3rd Kings in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1912 to 1917 as a Conservative. Following several votes against his party in the 38th General Assembly, Dewar lost the Conservative nomination in his district. He ran and won re-election as an Independent the 1919 election, but was unable to win in 1923.

The 63rd General Assembly of Prince Edward Island is the 63rd sitting of the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island and the 37th since confederation in 1873. The assembly was elected on May 28, 2007 with the result of a change of government and a landslide for Robert Ghiz and the Liberals.

He was previously elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island in the 2015 provincial election, representing the electoral district of Cornwall-Meadowbank as a member of the Liberal Party until he resigned on 18 August 2021 in order to run in the 2021 Canadian federal election.

With a victory in a November 2020 by-election, King's PCs became a majority government.
