The 60th Baeksang Arts Awards (Korean : 제60회 백상예술대상) ceremony was held at COEX, Seoul on May 7, 2024, at 17:00 (KST). [2] The show was hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Bae Suzy, and Park Bo-gum. It was broadcast live simultaneously in South Korea on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4, and internationally on Prizm. [3]

It is one of South Korea's most prestigious award shows, recognizing excellence in film, television, and theatre, through strict screening conducted by 60 professional evaluators, judges in the industry, and a group of experts. [4]

The nominees were announced on April 8, 2024, via its official website. All works released from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, were eligible for nominations. [4] [5]

Shin Dong-mi is a South Korean actress. She made her debut as a theater actor in 1998. She started her career as a television actress in 2001 and later made her film debut in a supporting role in Don't Look Back (2006). The Baeksang Arts Award Grand Prize – Film is an award presented annually at the Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony organised by Ilgan Sports and JTBC Plus, affiliates of JoongAng Ilbo, usually in the second quarter of each year in Seoul. It is considered the highest honor in the film division of the ceremony. The candidates are chosen from the list of nominees in the film division each year and are not announced prior to the ceremony. Grand Prize winners, which can be either a film or an individual, are ineligible for other major awards they are nominated for in the film division.

<i>Hopeless</i> (film) 2023 South Korean film

Hopeless is a 2023 South Korean neo-noir thriller film directed by Kim Chang-hoon and starring Hong Xa-bin in his film debut. The film also features Song Joong-ki and Kim Hyung-seo. The film depicts a teenage boy, Yeon-gyu, who while wanting to escape from his hellish reality, meets the middle boss of a local gang, Chi-geon, and ends up in the world of crime. It premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The film was released theatrically in South Korea on October 11, 2023.

Jeon Yu-na is a South Korean child actress. She gained international recognition for her role as the childhood Sunja in Apple TV+ series Pachinko in 2022, and as the genius girl Choi Ro-hee in ENA series The Kidnapping Day in 2023. For her role in The Kidnapping Day, she was awarded the Best New Actress in the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2024.
