A.F.C.A (also styled as " *A.F.C.A (Can't Be Stopped) ") is a brand of urban lifestyle clothing founded by the late Sven Westendorp, a Dutch fashion designer, graffiti artist and famed supporter of association football club AFC Ajax. [1] His brand has been popular since the mid 2000s and moved into the mainstream urban culture in the late 2000s. [2] [3] It is most often associated with association football. The style is based on graffiti art, hip-hop, association football culture, hooliganism and Ajax Amsterdam. [4] [5]

History

The creation of A.F.C.A came into being from selling t-shirts and doing graffiti. Sven "High" Westendorp began doing graffiti with C.B.S. in the tunnels and on the trains in Amsterdam in the early 1980s and founded his clothing brand A.F.C.A years later. [6] [7] A prominent F-sider, he eventually expanded from Clothing to footwear, and accessories. [8] He funded his clothing line with the success of his company Ticketbureau Ticket Unlimited, an important company for concert tickets and football matches in the Netherlands. [9] On 24 December 2009 the A.F.C.A outlet store in Hoogoorddreef (Zuidoost) was set on fire. [10] After his passing on 12 August 2011, the AFCA Supportersclub continue to manufacture his line with the proceeds going to his widow and daughter. [11] [12]

He was a well known supporter of the association football club AFC Ajax, and a member of the hooligan firm F-side. He is also the creator of the A.F.C.A clothing brand.

The Fireworks incident was a case of Football hooliganism which took place on Easter Sunday, 20 April 2014 in De Kuip, Rotterdam, during the KNVB Cup final match between AFC Ajax and PEC Zwolle. Mass amounts of fireworks, flares and smoke bombs were launched into the penalty box around Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer in the early minutes of the match, which had been thrown onto the pitch by the Ajax hooligan firm VAK410 twice in the early build up of the game. After a 30 minute recess in which marketing director Edwin van der Sar addressed the crowd, Ajax would go on to lose the match 5–1 to Zwolle.

Ajax-nieuws - clubblad van de Amsterdamsche Football Club "Ajax" was a Dutch monthly sports magazine published in Amsterdam, focusing on the association football club AFC Ajax with 12 issues appearing per season. It was established in 1917 and ran for 70 years with its first edition appearing in 1917 with an Ajax team photo on the cover. The 1986/87 season marked the final season of the printed magazine, as it was replaced by the bimonthly publication Ajax Magazine.

A.F.C.A is a Dutch hooligan firm linked to A.F.C. Ajax. In the past the Ajax fans consists only out of one firm: the well known F-side. Nowadays there are more firms active such as VAK410. Although they are separated groups, there is cooperation between them. This is especially the case during riots, the AFCA firm then consists of a mix with members from all of the groups, and they operate as one firm: the AFCA firm.

On 22 October 1989 during an association football match, two home-made nail bombs were thrown by a Feyenoord hooligan at De Meer Stadion, the home ground of AFC Ajax in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The explosions injured 19 people.
