A. Surya Prakash is an Indian journalist who was also the chairperson of Prasar Bharati. [1]

He has served as chief of bureau of Indian Express , executive editor of The Pioneer , India editor of Asia Times , political editor of Eenadu Group and editor of Zee News . [1] He is the author of two books, What Ails Indian Parliament and The Emergency — Indian Democracy’s Darkest Hour. [2] [3] Prakash has an MA in sociology from Mysore University and D.Litt. from Tumkur University. [4] He was appointed as a member of a search panel to choose an anti-corruption ombudsman called Lokpal. [5]

A Lokpal is an anti-corruption authority or body of ombudsman who represents the public interest in the Republic of India. The current Chairperson of Lokpal is Pinaki Chandra Ghose. The Lokpal has jurisdiction over central government to inquire into allegations of corruption against its public functionaries and for matters connected to corruption. The Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act was passed in 2013 with amendments in parliament, following the Jan Lokpal movement led by Anna Hazare in 2011. The Lokpal is responsible for enquiring into corruption charges at the national level while the Lokayukta performs the same function at the state level. The age of Lokpal on the date of assuming office as the chairperson or a member should not be less than 45 years.

DD News Indian television news channel

DD News is an Indian news channel of Doordarshan, it is India's only 24-hour terrestrial TV news channel broadcasting solely in Hindi, and formerly in English. The Prasar Bharati Board approved the proposal to start a 24-hour news channel in place of DD Metro, which was closing. Arun Bhatnagar

Arun Bhatnagar is a former Indian Administrative Service officer. He belongs to the 1966 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre and has served in various capacities in Madhya Pradesh and with the Government of India.
