A Fine Mess is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Kate Voegele. It is a combination of upbeat pop rock music, adding to the sound of her debut album, Don't Look Away (2007).

Background

Voegele first announced plans for a new album in 2008, while promoting her debut album, Don't Look Away . Between this announcement and the album's release, several songs were previewed and released. Three promotional singles were released from the album, including "Angel", "Lift Me Up", and "Sweet Silver Lining". After the album's release, several songs from the album (including those on the album's deluxe edition) managed to chart on several Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 in the US.

Promotion

The album was promoted by the Lift Me Up Tour in which Voegele headlined. She also performed songs from the album while opening up for Jordin Sparks on her Battlefield Tour. Several songs from the album were also premiered by Voegele's character Mia Catalano on One Tree Hill .

Ricki-Lee Coulter

Ricki-Lee Dawn Coulter, also known mononymously as Ricki-Lee, is an Australian singer, songwriter, television, and radio presenter. She was born in Auckland, New Zealand, grew up on the Gold Coast, Queensland and began performing at the age of 15. Coulter rose to fame in 2004 on the second season of Australian Idol and placed seventh in the competition. She subsequently signed with Australian independent label Shock Records, and released her self-titled debut album Ricki-Lee (2005), which produced the top-ten hits "Hell No!" and "Sunshine". Kate Elizabeth Voegele is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She made her musical debut in 2003, with the release of her The Other Side extended play. She performed numerous local live shows to promote the album, and toured with artists such as John Mayer. In 2005, she released her second extended play, Louder Than Words. Both had local success, and helped raise awareness of Voegele as an artist. During this time period, Voegele performed at events such as Farm Aid to promote her music, and began posting her music on popular social media network MySpace. She also won numerous awards and honors for her songwriting abilities.

Demetria Devonne Lovato is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. After appearing on the children's television series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), she rose to prominence for her role as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel musical television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010). The former film's soundtrack included "This Is Me", Lovato's duet with Joe Jonas, which became a top-ten single on the Billboard Hot 100.

Less Is More Tour

The Less is More Tour is the second headlining concert tour by British recording artist Natasha Bedingfield. Primarily visiting the United States, the tour will support the singer's third studio album, Strip Me. Joining Bedingfield on tour will be American recording artists, Andy Grammer, Kevin Hammond, and Kate Voegele, who previously supported Bedingfield on her Verizon VIP Tour (2009). The Less Is More tour is an "intimate" experience, and was to begin in Western Massachusetts on 5 June 2011 and was set to end in South Florida on 16 July 2011.

Stronger is the fifth studio album by American singer Kelly Clarkson, released on October 21, 2011 by RCA Records. The thirteen-song track-list features Clarkson collaborating with various new producers as well as with Howard Benson, whom she collaborated with on her previous album, All I Ever Wanted (2009). Wanting to stray away sonically from her previous albums, Clarkson's main objective was to record her vocal performances as it is heard in her live sets, and used as little auto-tune processing as possible. The album also marked the first release by Clarkson that did not cause a conflict with RCA; her previous records, most notably My December (2007), were released amidst conflict and controversy.

It was written by Kanye West, Jay-Z, Jeff Bhasker, Mike Dean, Bruno Mars and Seal, while production was handled by West, Bhasker, Mike Dean, Pharrell, Q-Tip, and Don Jazzy for Jay-Z's and West's collaboration album, Watch the Throne (2011). The song was rumored to be released as the lead single from the album containing additional vocals by Bruno Mars. However, Mars never appeared on the song and it was sent to urban contemporary radio on August 23, 2011.

"Why Don't You Try" is a song by American recording artist Kelly Clarkson, from her fifth studio album, Stronger (2011). Written by Eric Hutchinson and produced by Steve Jordan, the record features instrumental performances by prominent session musicians: Pino Palladino, Hugh McCracken, Ivan Neville, and Jordan on Drums. Hutchinson originally intended to record the song for his fourth studio album, Moving Up Living Down (2012), but ultimately decided to let Clarkson record it instead. The only known live performance of the song was during Muhammad Ali's "Celebrity Fight Night" charity event in March 2011.
