Abdul Manaf bin Hashim is a Malaysian politician. He is the Member of Perak State Legislative Assembly for Pengkalan Baharu from 2013 to 2022. [1]
On 4 December 2020,he had proposed a motion of confidence in the Perak State Legislative Assembly towards the Menteri Besar of Perak,Ahmad Faizal Azumu from Perikatan Nasional. The speaker,Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid had agreed to the motion. As a result,Ahmad Faizal no longer have the majority in the Perak State Legislative Assembly from Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan. [2]
On 23 December 2020,the new Menteri Besar of Perak,Saarani Mohamad has appointed him as a Special Adviser for the Menteri Besar due to his capacity of being an experienced and serving people's representative. [3] However,Saarani denied that the appointment is due to the overthrow of Ahmad Faizal. [4]

Dato' Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar bin Jamaluddin is a Malaysian politician and engineer who has served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) state administrations under Menteris Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Saarani Mohamad from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH state administration in March 2020 and again since November 2022 as well as Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Rapat since May 2018. He served as the 10th Menteri Besar of Perak from March 2008 to the collapse of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state administration in February 2009,MLA for Changkat Jering from May 2013 to May 2018,for Pasir Panjang from March 2008 to May 2013 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bukit Gantang from April 2009 to May 2013. He is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH),a component party of the PH coalition and was a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a former component party of the PR coalition.
The Menteri Besar of Perak or First Minister of Perak is the head of government in the Malaysian state of Perak. According to convention,the Menteri Besar is the leader of the majority party or largest coalition party of the Perak State Legislative Assembly.
Zambry bin Abdul Kadir is a Malaysian politician who served as the 11th Menteri Besar of Perak from February 2009 to the collapse of the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration in May 2018 and Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the BN state administration under former Menteri Besar Tajol Rosli Mohd Ghazali from March 2004 to another collapse of the BN state administration in March 2008 and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Pangkor from March 2004 to November 2022. The Perak State Executive Council is the executive authority of the Government of Perak,Malaysia. Ahmad Faizal bin Azumu,nicknamed Peja,is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Youth and Sports in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022,Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration for only 11 days in August 2021,12th and 13th Menteri Besar of Perak from May 2018 to his resignation and collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration in March 2020 and again from March 2020 to his resignation again and the collapse of the PN state administration in December 2020. He also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tambun and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Chenderiang from May 2018 to November 2022. He is a member,Deputy President and State Chairman of Perak as well as Pahang of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the ruling PN coalition at the federal level and former component party of the PH opposition coalition at both the federal and state levels. He was the State Chairman of PH of Perak. He was one of the only two Menteris Besar of Malaysia who has ruled in two state administrations of two different and opposing political coalitions,which were PH state administration from May 2018 to his resignation and its collapse in March 2020 and PN state administration from March 2020 to his resignation and its collapse in December 2020.
Saarani bin Mohamad is a Malaysian politician and teacher who has served as 14th Menteri Besar of Perak since December 2020 and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lenggong from November 1999 to March 2004 and Kota Tampan since March 2004. He was a member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administrations under former Menteris Besar Tajol Rosli Mohd Ghazali and Zambry Abdul Kadir from March 2004 to the collapse of the BN state administration in March 2008 and from February 2009 to another collapse in May 2018 and again in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under former Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu briefly from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in December 2020. He is a member,State Chairman of Perak and member of the Supreme Council of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the state ruling BN coalition which is aligned with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition at the state level. He is also the State Chairman of BN of Perak.

A vote of no confidence in the Malaysian state of Perak National Alliance–National Front (PN–BN) government of Ahmad Faizal Azumu occurred on 4 December 2020. The 'vote of confidence' was initially brought by Abdul Manap Hashim before being called for by the Leader of the Opposition Abdul Aziz Bari and supported by Maslin Sham Razman. The vote was subsequently lost by the PN–BN Government by thirty eight votes,which was announced at 11:13 am. The result did not,however,necessarily mandate a general election as the outgoing Perak chief minister has the option of advising the Sultan of Perak to dissolve the assembly or,alternatively,appoint an assemblyman who he deems to command the majority. Faizal later confirmed that he would not advise the sultan to dissolve the Perak State Legislative Assembly as the "current situation is not conducive for an election" due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. This was the fourth instance in which a Malaysian head of government of a state or territory was ousted from office through a confidence vote.
