Abdul Manaf bin Hashim is a Malaysian politician. He is the Member of Perak State Legislative Assembly for Pengkalan Baharu from 2013 to 2022. [1]
On 4 December 2020,he had proposed a motion of confidence in the Perak State Legislative Assembly towards the Menteri Besar of Perak,Ahmad Faizal Azumu from Perikatan Nasional. The speaker,Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid had agreed to the motion. As a result,Ahmad Faizal no longer have the majority in the Perak State Legislative Assembly from Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan. [2]
On 23 December 2020,the new Menteri Besar of Perak,Saarani Mohamad has appointed him as a Special Adviser for the Menteri Besar due to his capacity of being an experienced and serving people's representative. [3] However,Saarani denied that the appointment is due to the overthrow of Ahmad Faizal. [4]

Mohammad Nizar bin Jamaluddin is a Malaysian politician and engineer who has served as Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) state administrations under Menteris Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Saarani Mohamad from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH state administration in March 2020 and again since November 2022 as well as Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Rapat since May 2018. He served as the 10th Menteri Besar of Perak from March 2008 to the collapse of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state administration in February 2009,MLA for Changkat Jering from May 2013 to May 2018,for Pasir Panjang from March 2008 to May 2013 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bukit Gantang from April 2009 to May 2013. A vote of no confidence in the Malaysian state of Perak National Alliance–National Front (PN–BN) government of Ahmad Faizal Azumu occurred on 4 December 2020. The 'vote of confidence' was initially brought by Abdul Manap Hashim before being called for by the Leader of the Opposition Abdul Aziz Bari and supported by Maslin Sham Razman. The vote was subsequently lost by the PN–BN Government by thirty eight votes,which was announced at 11:13 am. The result did not,however,necessarily mandate a general election as the outgoing Perak chief minister has the option of advising the Sultan of Perak to dissolve the assembly or,alternatively,appoint an assemblyman who he deems to command the majority. Faizal later confirmed that he would not advise the sultan to dissolve the Perak State Legislative Assembly as the "current situation is not conducive for an election" due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. This was the fourth instance in which a Malaysian head of government of a state or territory was ousted from office through a confidence vote.
