Abdulla Azimov (born 20 March 1996) [2] is an Uzbekistani artistic gymnast. He won the all-around bronze medal at the 2024 Asian Championships and qualified to represent Uzbekistan at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He is the 2024 Asian Championships and 2014 Asian Games silver medalist on the pommel horse. With the Uzbekistan national team, he is the 2024 Asian Championships and 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games silver medalist.

Career

2014

Azimov began competing in senior international competitions in 2014. At the 2014 Cottbus World Cup, he finished eighth in the pommel horse final. [3] He then finished fifth on the pommel horse at the Anadia World Challenge Cup. [4] He represented Uzbekistan at the 2014 Asian Games where the team finished seventh. [5] Individually, Azimov won the silver medal on the pommel horse behind Japan's Masayoshi Yamamoto. [6] Then at the 2014 World Championships, the Uzbekistan team finished 32nd, [7] and Azimov finished 20th on the pommel horse. [8]

2018–19

Azimov finished fifth in the pommel horse final at the 2018 Mersin World Challenge Cup. [9] He then represented Uzbekistan at the 2018 Asian Games and helped the team finish seventh. Individually, Azimov finished 15th in the all-around. [10] Then at the 2018 World Championships, the Uzbekistan team finished 38th, [11] and Azimov finished 89th in the all-around. [12]

Azimov competed at the 2019 Summer Universiade and qualified for the pommel horse final where he finished fourth. [13] He then competed at the 2019 World Championships, finishing 72nd in the all-around. [14]

2021–22

Azimov won a bronze medal on the pommel horse at the 2021 Varna World Challenge Cup. [15] [16]

Azimov began the 2022 season with a seventh-place finish on the pommel horse at the 2022 Cairo World Cup. [17] He then finished eighth on the pommel horse at the Baku World Cup. [18] He competed at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games, held in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and won a silver medal with teammates Rasuljon Abdurakhimov and Khabibullo Ergashev. Individually, he finished sixth in the all-around, fifth on the floor exercise, and fourth on the pommel horse. [19] At the 2022 World Championships, he finished ninth on the pommel horse during the qualification round, making her the first reserve for the final. [20]

2023

At the 2023 Cottbus World Cup, Azimov won the gold medal on the pommel horse in an upset victory over World champions and Olympic medalists. [21] Then at the Varna World Challenge Cup, he won the pommel horse silver medal behind Matvei Petrov. [22] He competed at the 2023 Asian Championships and finished eighth in the pommel horse final. [23] Then at the 2023 World Championships, he finished 36th in the all-around during the qualification round. [24]

2024

Azimov won the all-around bronze medal at the 2024 Asian Championships behind Carlos Yulo and Milad Karimi. Because Yulo and Karimi had already qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics, Azimov received the continental championships berth. [25] [26] Additionally, he won a silver medal with the Uzbekistan team and a silver medal on the pommel horse behind Nariman Kurbanov. [27] [28] At the Olympic Games, he finished 28th in the all-around during the qualification round, making him the second reserve for the final. [29]

She previously represented Russia at the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal in the team competition. She was also a member of the gold medal-winning Russian teams at the 2016 and 2018 European Championships, and the silver medal-winning Russian teams at the 2018 and 2019 World Championships.

Samir Aït Saïd is a French artistic gymnast. He's the 2019 World bronze medalist and the 2013 European champion on the still rings. He is also a three-time European silver medalist and a two-time European bronze medalist. He represented France at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics, and the 2024 Summer Olympics. He was one of France's flagbearers at the 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony.

Kaya Kazuma is a Japanese artistic gymnast. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning silver with the Japanese team and bronze in the pommel horse. He again competed at the 2024 games as part of the Japanese team which won gold in the all-around competition. He is also a two-time World champion with the Japanese team and a two-time World medalist on the pommel horse. He is the 2019 Universiade team and all-around champion.

Ryu Sung-hyun is a South Korean artistic gymnast. He is the 2019 Junior World champion on the floor exercise. He represented South Korea at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games. He won two bronze medals at the 2021 World University Games.

Audrys Nin Reyes is a Dominican artistic gymnast. He is the 2019 and 2023 Pan American Games vault champion. He was the first Dominican gymnast to win a gold medal at the Pan American Games. He was also the first Dominican gymnast to win a gold medal at an FIG World Cup event when he won the vault title at the 2017 Osijek World Challenge Cup. He is the 2017 Pan American vault and horizontal bar champion and the 2017 Universiade vault champion. He is also the 2018 and 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games vault champion. He has qualified to represent the Dominican Republic at the 2024 Summer Olympics, the first male gymnast from his country to do so.

Rasuljon Shukhratovich Abdurakhimov is an Uzbek gymnast. At the 2024 Asian Championships, he won a silver medal in the team event and a bronze medal on the parallel bars. He is the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games all-around and parallel bars bronze medal. He competed in the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships</span>

The 2022 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships was the ninth edition of the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, and were held in Doha, Qatar from 15 to 28 June 2022.

Gymnastics competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were contested in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The artistic and trampoline events occurred at the Accor Arena, with the rhythmic events staged at Porte de La Chapelle Arena from 8 to 10 August.

The men's artistic individual all-around event at the 2024 Summer Olympics was scheduled to take place on 27 and 31 July 2024 at the Accor Arena. 44 gymnasts from 23 nations competed in the all-around in the qualifying round.

Ahmad Abu Al-Soud is a Jordanian artistic gymnast. He became the first gymnast from Jordan to medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships when he won the silver medal on pommel horse at the 2022 World Championships. He then won the bronze medal on the pommel horse at the 2023 World Championships. He is also the 2019 and 2022 Asian champion on the pommel horse. He represented Jordan at the 2024 Summer Olympics, the first gymnast from Jordan to do so.

Khabibullo Khimayatullah Ergashev is an Uzbekistani artistic gymnast. He qualified to represent Uzbekistan at the 2024 Summer Olympics and finished 41st in the all-around during the qualification round. He won team silver medals at the 2024 Asian Championships and the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games.
