Dhool Ka Phool is a 1959 Indian Hindi-language film produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by B. R.'s brother Yash Chopra, being his first movie as a director, having been an assistant director in B. R.'s earlier film Naya Daur. The film stars Rajendra Kumar, Mala Sinha, Nanda, Leela Chitnis, Jeevan, Manmohan Krishna, and Ashok Kumar. Anandam (transl. Happiness) is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language romance film, directed by Srinu Vaitla and starring Akash and Rekha in the lead roles. Shanti Kranti is a 1991 Indian multilingual film written, produced and directed by V. Ravichandran under his Eshwari Productions banner. The film starred himself in lead role, with Juhi Chawla and Anant Nag in supporting roles. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. V. Ravichandran was the lead in the Kannada version, he portrayed Ramesh Aravind's part in Tamil and Telugu versions. Director's Special is a 2013 Indian Kannada-language satire film written and directed by Guruprasad. It stars a debutant Dhananjay along with Rangayana Raghu. Actress Pooja Gandhi made a special appearance in an item song. The storyline of the movie was also found in two more Kannada movies—Dasavala and Karodpathi. It was also reported that the concept of all these films could be traced back to the 1996 Spanish film Familia in which a lonely rich man hires actors to act as his family members on his birthday.

The film stars Krishna himself alongside his real-life children, Ramesh Babu, Mahesh Babu, also Radha, Sonam as leads and music was composed by Chakravarthy.
