Accra Technical Training Center (ATTC) is a technical/vocational institution in Accra, Ghana.
ATTC was established in July 1966 as a joint project by the Governments of Ghana and Canada. It was envisioned as a training school to train skilled workers for Ghana's industrial requirements and it marked the first major Canadian support to Ghana in the field of technical education and training.
ATTC trains workers for different occupations and trades. Currently, the school is under the Technical Division of the Ghana Education Service of the Ministry of Education.
In the early 1960s, Arnold Doyle, the Director of Vocational and Technical Education for Saskatchewan, conducted a feasibility study for the establishment of a technical school in Ghana. It was sponsored by the Canadian External Aid Office.
Doyle became the Canadian Coordinator for the ATTC project. The Ghanaian counterpart was Frank Hutchful, then Ghana's Director of Apprenticeship and Duty Chief Technical Education Officer.
ATTC opened in July, 1966. The ceremony was attended by Donald S. Macdonald and A.K. Deku, the then Commissioner for Education in the National Liberation Council (NLC) Government, representing the Government of Ghana

UNESCO launched the Trash Hack initiative, an ESD campaign, in September 2020 to encourage young people to learn about sustainability by addressing waste issues. Globally, around 2 billion tonnes of waste are produced annually, polluting waterways, filling cities, and littering vast areas, including Ghana. In Ghana, over 1.1 million tonnes of plastic waste are generated each year, with only about 5% being collected for recycling. Without intentional measures, the waste problem will worsen. Advocacy, attitude changes, and policy interventions are essential to address this issue.
The Ghana Commission for UNESCO promotes simple actions that young people can take to reduce waste in their communities, homes, and schools. This outreach is often conducted through UNESCO Clubs in secondary and tertiary institutions. These clubs promote transformative education as outlined in SDG target 4.7, including education for sustainable development, global citizenship education, and health and well-being education.
On March 12, 2022, UNESCO Club members at Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC) organized a trash hack campaign. The students showcased items such as hand-held fans, pencil/pen holders, bedroom lamps, air freshener dispensers, toys, and waterholes.

The ATTC has been organizing short two-week courses for industry since 1994. This was set up with the support of the French government at that time. Courses include Hydraulics, Industrial Electricals, Pneumatics, Programmable Logic Controller, Refrigeration, Welding, and Meteorology (World Bank, 2014). [5]

Vocational education can also be seen as that type of education given to an individual to prepare that individual to be gainfully employed or self employed with requisite skill. Vocational education is known by a variety of names, depending on the country concerned, including career and technical education, or acronyms such as TVET and TAFE.
Technology education, tech ed, or career and technical education is the study of technology, in which students "learn about the processes and knowledge related to technology". As a field of study, it covers the human's ability to shape and change the physical world to meet needs, by manipulating materials and tools with techniques. It addresses the disconnect between wide usage and the lack of knowledge about technical components of technologies used and how to fix them. This emergent discipline seeks to contribute to the learners' overall scientific and technological literacy, and technacy.

Education in Ghana uses a dualistic approach encompassing both formal and informal learning systems. The current formal educational system was introduced during European colonisation. However, learning systems existed prior to that. The University of Moliyili is one of the earliest learning centers in Ghana established in the 1700s. During colonisation, European settlers initially introduced a formal education system addressed to the elites, while education of the average citizen was mainly informal, and based on apprenticeship. Economic activities in pre-colonial Ghana were based on farm produce shared within households and members of each household specialized in providing necessities such as cooking utilities, shelter, clothing, and furniture, and trade with other households was therefore practiced on a very small scale. As such there was no need for employment outside the household that would have otherwise called for disciplines, values, and skills through a formal education system. After colonization, Ghana's economy became a hybrid of subsistence and formal economy.

The Pentecost University is a private university located at Sowutuom in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It was founded by The Church of Pentecost (COP) and evolved from The Pentecost Bible College which initially trained only Lay Leaders and full-time Ministers for the COP. On May 22, 2003, J. A. Marian Ewurama Addy was a Ghanaian biochemist and the first Host of the National Science and Maths Quiz. The first Ghanaian woman to attain the rank of full professor of natural science, Addy became a role model for school girls and budding female scientists on the limitless opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Marian Addy was also a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, elected in 1999. In the same year, she was awarded the UNESCO Kalinga Prize for the Popularization of Science.

Advanced Technology Centre Shah Alam, also known as ADTECSA or ADTEC Shah Alam, is a public vocational college in a 40 acres (16 ha) land in Kota Kemuning, suburb of Shah Alam, Malaysia. It was founded in 2001 under Jabatan Tenaga Manusia, JTM, and inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in 2003. It is one of eight ADTECs in Malaysia. As of 2023, ADTEC Shah Alam offers nine full-time courses. ADTEC Shah Alam is the first and only TVET government based training institution to have the Aircraft Maintenance Course throughout Malaysia.
