Achyuta Samanta FRSC (born 20 January 1965) is an Indian educationist and philanthropist.
Besides education and tribal upliftment,healthcare and rural development,Samanta has contributed to art,culture,literature,film,media,society and national integration. He has also founded Kadambini Magazine and Kuni Katha exclusively for children. Besides,he is also the founder of Kalinga TV and K News Odisha.
He has been conferred with more than 50 International and National awards and over 200 state awards besides two highest Civilian Awards from Royal Kingdom of Bahrain and Mongolia called ISA Award for Service to Humanity and Best Worker Award respectively. He has been conferred with 55 Honorary Doctorate awards from universities in India and abroad. He is the first Odia to be a member of both UGC and AICTE. He is currently the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Kandhamal,Odisha and also the President of Volleyball Federation of India. He is the designated President (India) of Democracy without Borders and founder of Parliamentarians for Indigenous People.
Samanta was born to Anadi Charan Samanta and Nilima Rani Samanta in the village of Kalarabanka in Cuttack District of Odisha in 1965. [2] His father died when Samanta was four,and he grew up in abject poverty with his widowed mother and seven siblings. [3]
Samanta received an M.Sc. in Chemistry from Utkal University. He started his career as a Chemistry lecturer in a college in Bhubaneswar.
Samanta is the founder,ex chancellor,and secretary of KIIT University;and the founder of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences,KISS Deemed to be University,KIIT International School,Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS),KIIT School of Management (KSOM),KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM),KIIT School of Computer Application (KSCA),KIIT School of Biotechnology (KSBT),KIIT Law School (KLS),KIIT School of Languages (KSOL),Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) and KIIT Polytechnic.

Samanta received a number of awards,and created new records in the field of social entrepreneurship. He was mentioned among the Top 15 Social Entrepreneurs of the World by the American Edge Foundation. [4] Samanta appears in The Limca Book of Records as the youngest chancellor of any University in India.

The Indian metropolis of Bhubaneswar has approximately 1,600 kilometres (990 mi) of roads,with average road density of 11.82 square kilometres (4.56 sq mi). Baramunda Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) is the major bus terminus in the city from where buses ply to all the districts in Odisha as well as to neighbouring state's cities like Hyderabad,Kolkata,Visakhapatnam,Raipur and Ranchi. City bus service runs in public-private partnership between Bhubaneswar-Puri Transport Service Limited (BPTSL) and Dream Team Sahara (DTS) under JNNURM scheme. A fleet of 185 buses cover all major destinations including Cuttack,Puri and Khordha. Auto rickshaws are available for hire and on a share basis throughout the city. In parts of the city,cycle rickshaws offer short trips. To ease traffic jams,over-bridges at major road junctions and expansion of roads are under construction. In a study of six cities in India,Bhubaneswar was ranked third concerning pedestrian infrastructure. The city scored 50 points out of maximum 100. The government of Odisha introduced the much-awaited Bhubaneswar BRTS in Bhubaneswar.
Debi Prasanna Pattanayak is an Indian professor,linguist,social scientist and author. He was the founder-director of the Central Institute of Indian Languages,Mysore and former chairman of Institute of Odia Studies and Research,Bhubaneswar. Pattanayak was awarded Padma Shri in 1987. for his contribution to formalize,and adding Bodo language in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India. He also take a major role led Odia language to acquire the status of a "classical language".
padmasri Satyanarayana Rajguru (1903-1997) was an Indian litterateur,epigraphist and historian. He was a curator and epigraphist at the Odisha State Museum and was a recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award,Bharati Bhushan award,Ganjam Sahitya Sammilani award,Odisha Sahitya Academy Award and Sarala Sanman. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri in 1974.

He wrote 16 books in English and 20 in Odia. He was also a columnist in several leading Odia journals and newspapers. He organised several camps across Odisha,for helping the cause of the poor and downtrodden.
Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS),informally KISS University,is a higher education institute deemed-to-be-university located in Bhubaneswar,Odisha,India. It was established in 1993 as a residential tribal school and became a deemed-to-be-university in 2017.
Iti Rani Samanta is an Indian columnist,journalist and film producer. She won the Odisha State Film Awards in 2014 for Best Story Writer. She is also the editor of the monthly family magazine The Kadambini and the children’s magazine The Kunikatha.
