The Acobamba District is one of the eight districts in the Acobamba Province in Peru. It was created by Law No. 9718 on January 15, 1943. [1] Its capital is Acobamba. [2]
The people in the district are mainly Indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (62.07%) learnt to speak in childhood, 37.64% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [3]
