Action Painting is a 2017 compilation album by the British band The Creation. The compilation was the first time the complete studio recordings of the band were released. They were remastered from the original tapes by the group's original producer Shel Talmy as well as being given stereo mixes where previously unavailable. [1] [2]

Peter Margasak of The Chicago Reader commented that the compilation showcased "convincing evidence that the band possessed at least minor genius". [4] Stephen Thomas Erlewine gave the album a Best New Reissue statement in Pitchfork Media, comparing the band to other contemporaries of the era, summarizing that the "compilation overwhelmingly proves, they were as self-aware as the Move, as vicious as The Who, and as clever as The Kinks." [3] AllMusic declared the reissue "the best-looking and best-sounding set yet" for the band and declared the group's music as living "on as some of the most exciting, most impressive sounds of the '60s." Amnesiac is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead, released on 30 May 2001 by EMI subsidiaries Parlophone and Capitol Records. It was recorded with the producer Nigel Godrich in the same sessions as Radiohead's previous album Kid A (2000); Radiohead split the work in two as they felt it was too dense for a double album. As with Kid A, Amnesiac incorporates influences from electronic music, 20th-century classical music, jazz and krautrock. The final track, "Life in a Glasshouse", is a collaboration with the jazz trumpeter Humphrey Lyttelton and his band.
Weasel Walter is an American composer, improviser, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founder of ugEXPLODE Records. Walter's work has been informed by techniques and traditions of music including Avant-garde, experimental, no wave, free jazz, extreme metal, punk jazz, hardcore punk, noise, new music and free improvisation. He coined the term "brutal prog" to describe the aggressively dissonant strain of prog played by groups like his band The Flying Luttenbachers.

Dots and Loops is the fifth studio album by English-French rock band Stereolab. It was released on 22 September 1997 and was issued by Duophonic Records and Elektra Records. The band co-produced the album with John McEntire and Andi Toma, and recording took place at their respective studios in Chicago and Düsseldorf. It was their first album to be recorded straight to Digital Audio Tape and produced with Pro Tools. The album explores jazz and electronic sounds, and is influenced by bossa nova and 1960s pop music. Its lyrics address matters such as consumerism, the "spectacle", materialism, and human interaction.

Dinosaur is the debut studio album by the alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. It was released in 1985 on Homestead Records. The album exhibits a folkier side of the band than on future releases, but some of the tracks on the album showed off a much heavier, more hardcore punk-based side to the band in songs such as "Does it Float", "Mountain Man" and "Bulbs of Passion."
"Lady Stardust" is a song written by English singer-songwriter David Bowie that appeared on the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972). Co-produced by Ken Scott, Bowie recorded it with his backing band the Spiders from Mars – comprising Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey. The song is generally interpreted as alluding to fellow glam rock icon Marc Bolan. The original demo version was entitled "He Was Alright ". A 4-track demo version of the song was sold as a picture disc single during the "David Bowie Is" exhibition in Japan in 2017.
Turn is a double album by Dutch anarchist post-punk band The Ex. After 20 years of working with Luc, their former bass guitarist, Turn is the only Ex album to feature double bass player Rosemarie giving the band a sound akin their prior work with cellist Tom Cora. In tandem with The Ex's drummer Katrin, Rosemarie also contributed significant female vocal harmonies to the album.
"Painter Man" is a song written by British singer Kenny Pickett and guitarist Eddie Phillips, first recorded by their group the Creation and released as a single in October 1966. Written as a response to their avant-garde stage show, the single was their only top-forty hit on the UK Singles Chart, reaching number 36. It fared better in West Germany, where it reached number eight. It was later issued on their album We Are Paintermen.
The Numero Group is an archival record label that creates compilations of previously released music, reissues original albums, and creates album reconstructions from a variety of musical genres. The label, known as Numero, was founded in 2003 by Rob Sevier, Ken Shipley, and Tom Lunt. The label's focus since its 2003 founding has been to research and preserve obscure recorded material and ephemera by artists and entrepreneurs who found little commercial success upon their material's initial release.
1992–1998 is a compilation boxed set by the American band Bedhead containing all three of their studio albums as well as early singles and extended plays. It was released on November 11, 2014, by the Numero Group. The boxset was released on compact disc and vinyl formats, with the LP edition being limited to 2,000 copies. Along with the release of this boxset, all three Bedhead albums were also released separately on LP formats; however, this set's fourth disc, Singles/EPs/B-Sides, is exclusive to this release only.
It Came From N.Y.C. is a three-disc or five-LP anthology of the band White Zombie, released on June 3, 2016, by The Numero Group. It collects all the material the group officially released between 1985 and 1989, including previously unreleased tracks from the Pig Heaven/Slaughter the Grey sessions. The audio was remastered by guitarist Jay Yuenger and the box set includes a one-hundred and eight page book comprising unpublished photos, anecdotes by the band and a twenty-thousand-word essay written by Pitchfork contributor Grayson Currin.

1967 – Sunshine Tomorrow is an expanded reissue of the 1967 album Wild Honey by American rock band the Beach Boys. It was released by Capitol Records on June 30, 2017 and consists largely of previously unreleased material that the group had produced after abandoning Smile in mid-1967. Included is the first ever complete stereo mix of Wild Honey, live performances, outtakes, session highlights, and additional material sourced from Smiley Smile (1967) and the unreleased live effort Lei'd in Hawaii, both of which immediately preceded the Wild Honey sessions.

Savage Young Dü is a three-CD/four-LP box set by American rock band Hüsker Dü, released by Numero Group in 2017. It spans the band's first four years, from 1979 to 1982, and contains demos, studio and live recordings remastered from original session masters and soundboard tapes. 47 of the set's 69 tracks are previously unissued, of which some are never-before-heard songs. The set includes a remix of the "In a Free Land" single, a remastered Everything Falls Apart, and an alternate Land Speed Record. A limited edition included the Extra Circus 7" with four previously unreleased outtakes from the Metal Circus sessions.
Woodstock – Back to the Garden: The Definitive 50th Anniversary Archive is a live album by various artists, packaged as a box set of 38 CDs. It contains nearly all of the performances from the Woodstock music festival, which took place on August 15–18, 1969, in Bethel, New York. The CDs also include many stage announcements and miscellaneous audio material. The box set also contains bonus material such as a Blu-ray copy of the director's cut of the Woodstock documentary film, a hardcover book written by concert promoter Michael Lang, and a replica of the original concert program. It was released by Rhino Records on August 2, 2019, in a limited edition of 1,969 copies.
Capsule Losing Contact is a compilation album and box set by the American slowcore band Duster. It was released by The Numero Group as part of the 200 Line series on March 22, 2019, and compiles the four previous Duster releases, Stratosphere,Contemporary Movement, Transmission, Flux and 1975, as well as numerous singles, demos and unreleased material. The album is named after track 9 of the third disc, "Capsule Losing Contact".
