Aditi Balan is an Indian actress, dancer and model who works in Tamil and Malayalam films. She is best known for her role as Aruvi in the film Aruvi . [1] [2]

Career

She first featured in the movie Yennai Arindhaal (2015) in an uncredited, brief role. She then got the opportunity to play a lead role in the film, Aruvi. It was one of the biggest hits in 2017, and her performance was unanimously praised by critics. She received many accolades for Aruvi including Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – South. [3]

Aruvi is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language political drama film written and directed by Arun Prabu Purushothaman, in his directorial debut. Produced and distributed by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures, the film stars Aditi Balan, Anjali Vardhan, and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, while Pradeep Antony and Mohammad Ali Baig play supporting roles. The film portrays the events that occur in the life of Aruvi, a rebellious young woman who seeks to expose the consumerist and misogynistic nature of modern civilisation, while attempting to find meaning during a period of existential crisis.

Vikram Vedha is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language neo-noir action thriller film directed by Pushkar–Gayathri and produced by YNOT Studios. The film stars R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the titular anti-hero roles, alongside Shraddha Srinath, Kathir, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prem, Achyuth Kumar, Hareesh Peradi and Vivek Prasanna. It is Inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi, which is known internationally as Vikram-Vetala. The film follows Vikram, a police inspector, who sets out to track down and kill Vedha, a gangster. After Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself, he tells Vikram three stories which change his perceptions of good and evil.
