Writing for The Line of Best Fit , David Cobbald praised the album as "a whole lot of fun" and a "return to form" for the band. [7] In a less favorable Pitchfork review, the album was described as "grown and sexy", and "a well-made 2010s pastiche of disco-funk". [8] The Arts Desk opined that the album "has its moments, but never breaks a sweat". [5] In a mostly favorable review, Flood magazine noted "a sound far less overproduced than their recent material", but criticized misogyny in several songs as "moldy and dated". [10]

"Sexy, Sexy, Sexy" is a 1973 song written and recorded by James Brown, for the film Slaughter's Big Rip-Off. The song appeared on the film's soundtrack, and was released as a single in 1973.
