Afreumenes aterrimus is a species of wasp in the family Vespidae. It was described by Schulthess in 1910. [1]

The genus was first proposed by Pierre André Latreille in 1802, with the type species later designated by Latreille in 1810. All species make jug-like nests out of mud, usually attached to twigs.
