Hercostomus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is a large genus, containing more than 483 species worldwide.

Achradocera is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Nearctic and Neotropical realms as well as in Polynesia. Several Afrotropical species were also placed in the genus, but in 2018 they were transferred to Chrysotus. Achradocera was formerly considered a subgenus of Chrysotus, but was restored as a separate genus by Harold E. Robinson (1975).

Anasyntormon is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It was originally placed in Rhaphiinae near Syntormon. It was moved to Dolichopodinae by Hans Ulrich (1980), who found it to be congeneric or closely related to Hercostomus.

Argyrochlamys is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is known from the Afrotropics, the Oriental realm, and the southernmost part of the Palearctic realm.

Babindella is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae from Australia. It is the only genus in the subfamily Babindellinae, and is named after Babinda, the type locality.

Katangaia is an African genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It was originally placed in the subfamily Rhaphiinae, though it was later transferred to Dolichopodinae. In 2005, based on a cladistic analysis of the subfamily, by Scott E. Brooks excluded Katangaia from the Dolichopodinae. However, later authors have retained the genus in this subfamily.

Lichtwardtia Genus of flies

Lichtwardtia is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is considered to be a synonym of Dolichopus by Scott E. Brooks (2005), but not by other authors. Before this, it was considered a possible subgenus of Pterostylus by Oleg Negrobov (1979).

Phalacrosoma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. The genus was synonymized with Hercostomus by Scott E. Brooks (2005), but it is considered valid in Igor Grichanov's checklist of the family.

Pterostylus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It contains a single species, Pterostylus aberrans. The genus was synonymized with Poecilobothrus by Scott E. Brooks (2005), but is considered valid in Igor Grichanov's checklist of the family.

Sybistroma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes over 50 species, described mainly from the Palaearctic and Oriental realms. A single species is known from the Afrotropical realm. Until 2005, the genus was thought to be restricted to the Mediterranean in distribution, with five known species. It was recently expanded to include the former genera Hypophyllus, Ludovicius and Nordicornis, as well as some species of Hercostomus.

Achalcinae

Achalcinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is an ancestral group close to Medeterinae and Sciapodinae.

He wrote over 470 scientific papers (1979-2016). Не has described 26 new genera and over 400 new species of flies.

Pseudargyrochlamys is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It was established by Igor Grichanov in 2006, for four species of Paracleius from South Africa. A fifth species was described in 2020.
