Airin Rachmi Diany (born 1976) is an Indonesian politician who served as the mayor of South Tangerang from 2011 to 2021. [1] She is also the aunt of Banten lieutenant governor Andika Hazrumy. [2] She has led several initiatives to combat recruitment of people in her city by radical fundamentalist groups,including interfaith forums,with the support of Indonesia's central government. [3] She also commissioned a canal project in order to prevent flooding on the Jakarta–Serpong Toll Road in February 2017. [4]
Diany won the People's Choice Award as well as the Miss Indonesia Tourism award at the 1996 Miss Universe Indonesia contest. Actress-turned-representative in the People's Representative Council,Nurul Arifin,pointed to Diany and Surabaya mayor Tri Rismaharini as her inspiration for running for mayor of Bandung. [5]
After the end of her tenure in South Tangerang,Diany ran in 2024 as a candidate for the national House of Representatives from Banten's 3rd electoral district as a Golkar candidate and was elected,winning 302,878 votes. [6]
Banten is the westernmost province on the island of Java,Indonesia. Its capital city is Serang and its largest city is Tangerang. Tangerang Regency is a regency of Banten Province,Indonesia. It is located in the northwest of the island of Java. The current regent is Ahmed Zaki Iskandar. Though commonly misunderstood as being a part of Jakarta,Tangerang is actually outside the Special Capital Region of Jakarta but is part of Greater Jakarta. Since 1993,the regency has lost territory as first Tangerang city was split off on 27 February 1993 and subsequently South Tangerang city was split off on 29 October 2008. Ratu Atut Chosiyah is a former governor of the province of Banten,Indonesia. She was suspended from office in 2014 because of a corruption case. She held office for several terms. Before her election as governor in 2006,she was the deputy governor under Djoko Munandar starting from 11 January 2002. Djoko was involved in a corruption case and was suspended from office in October 2005. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono appointed Ratu Atut as the acting governor to take over Djoko's administrative duties and she later became governor. She thus became the first female governor in Indonesia. In May 2014,she was formally charged by the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission for alleged corruption. In early September 2014,she was sentenced to a four-year term of imprisonment on the charges brought by the Commission against her. In September 2022,Ratu Atut was released on parole.

Operated by Jasa Marga and Nusantara Infrastructure,this toll road is connected to the Jakarta Outer Ring Road in Ulujami and Petukangan areas.
South Tangerang is a city in the province of Banten,Indonesia. Located 30 km (19 mi) on the southwestern border of Jakarta,the city forms part of the Greater Jakarta metropolitan area. The Serpong–Balaraja Toll Road is a toll road that connects Serpong with Balaraja,Tangerang Regency in the province of Banten,Indonesia. An extension from the Jakarta–Serpong Toll Road,it will provide access from Serpong to the Port of Merak via the Tangerang–Merak Toll Road.

On August 20,2020,Minister of Transportation,Budi Karya Sumadi,attended the Groundbreaking New Image and Accessibility Improvement of Pondok Ranji Station. The inauguration is the start of the construction or renovation of Pondok Ranji station. In January 2022,the renovations have finished and Pondok Ranji station has a new shape.

Drs. Kyai Hajji Habib Ali Alwi bin Thohir Al Husainy is an Indonesian politician,da'i,Islamic scholar and founder of the Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Husainy,Serpong,South Tangerang,Banten. At the election of regional head and deputy regional head of Tangerang Regency in 2008,Alwi was nominated by the Democrat Party and the National Awakening Party as a candidate for vice regent along with Usamah Hisyam as a candidate for regent,but this pair was defeated by incumbent candidate Ismet Iskandar with Rano Karno as his deputy. Currently,Alwi serves as a senator representing the province of Banten in the Regional Representative Council.

Serpong is a town and an administrative district (kecamatan) of South Tangerang city,in Banten Province on Java,Indonesia. Before South Tangerang City became an autonomous city,Serpong was one of the districts of Tangerang Regency. It covers an area of 28.27 km2,and had a population of 137,212 at the 2010 Census and 154,744 at the 2020 Census;the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 163,451. The 2024 Banten gubernatorial election will be held on 27 November 2024 as part of nationwide local elections to elect the Governor of Banten for a five-year term.
The 2020 South Tangerang mayoral election was held on 9 December 2020 as part of nationwide local elections to elect the mayor of South Tangerang for a three-year term. The previous election was held in 2015. Sitting vice mayor Benyamin Davnie,supported by just the Golkar party,won the election after defeating coalition-backed candidates Muhamad and Siti Nur Azizah.
