Aku is a larger town in Enugu State, Nigeria. It is located in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area. Aku is known for agriculture and cultural practices such as their Odo festival.

Ihiagwa is a town in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. It is located 12 km (7.5 mi) south of the capital city of Owerri. The Wukari Federation is a traditional state in Nigeria, a successor to the Kwararafa state of the Jukun people. The state is based in the town of Wukari in Taraba State, in the south of the Benue River basin. The ruler takes the title "Aku Uka".

The 1979 Benue State gubernatorial election occurred on July 28, 1979. NPN's Aper Aku won election for a first term to become Benue State's first executive governor leading and, defeating main opposition in the contest.

The 1983 Benue State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on August 13, 1983. The NPN nominee Aper Aku won the election, defeating other candidates.
