Alcmaria Victrix is a Dutch omnisport club based in Alkmaar. The club has football, baseball and softball departments. The name is derived from the city crest "Wapen van Alkmaar", Alcmaria Victrix as in Alkmaar as victor. [1]
One of the oldest football clubs in the country, the football club was founded 1 January 1898. In the early years of professional football in the Netherlands, Alcmaria Victrix were a competitive side, having played at the top flight of football in the Netherlands, as well as competing in the KNVB Cup. Currently the football team compete on an amateur level. [2] No longer the top club in Alkmaar, the side was eventually surpassed by Alkmaar '54 who later merged to become AZ Alkmaar. [3]

Purmerend is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The city is surrounded by polders, such as the Purmer, Beemster and the Wormer. The city became the trade center of the region but the population grew relatively slowly. Only after 1960 did the population start to grow from around 10,000 to around 80,000 by the 2010s. From the 1960s onwards, Purmerend has seen major expansion and continues to do so. This expansion has turned Purmerend into a commuter town; many inhabitants of Purmerend work, go to school or spend their leisure time in Amsterdam. Purmerend is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.
Aloysius Paulus Maria "Louis" van Gaal is a Dutch former football player and manager who currently serves as an advisor for Ajax. Ronald Koeman is a Dutch professional football manager and former player who is the manager of the Netherlands national team. Koeman scored over 250 goals whilst playing in defence for the majority of his career. Koeman was capable of playing both as a defender and as a midfielder; he frequently played as a sweeper, although he was equally known for his goalscoring, long-range shooting, and accuracy from free kicks and penalties. Because of his goalscoring, he is considered one of the best attacking center backs of all time.
Willem II, also known as Willem II Tilburg, is a Dutch football club based in Tilburg, Netherlands. They play in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, following relegation from the Eredivisie in the 2021–22 season. The club was founded on 12 August 1896 as Tilburgia. On 12 January 1898, the club was renamed Willem II after Dutch king William II of the Netherlands (1792–1849), who, as Prince of Orange and commander of the Dutch army, had his military headquarters in Tilburg during the Belgian uprising of 1830, spent much time in the city after becoming king, and died there.
