Alexander Hamilton Preparatory Academy (abbreviated as AHPA) is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Elizabeth, in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of Elizabeth Public Schools. The academy accepts students in ninth through twelfth grades in Elizabeth who have passed the requirements for enrollment. The academy is operated by the Elizabeth Board of Education. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2013. [3] The school's college-preparatory curriculum prepares students for four-year colleges and universities.
As of the 2023–24 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,022 students and 60.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.9:1. There were 639 students (62.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 173 (16.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. [1]
