Azad Jammu and Kashmir, abbreviated as AJK and commonly known as Azad Kashmir, is a nominally self-governing jurisdiction administered by Pakistan. The territory lies west of the Indian-administered state of Jammu and Kashmir, and was part of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Kargil War, also known as the Kargil conflict, was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). They resulted in a surprise victory for Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI), a conservative front led by Nawaz Sharif, which won 106 seats. The IJI had campaigned for privatisation and social conservative policies. Voter turnout was 45.5%.
APNA Channel is a Punjabi language satellite television channel broadcasting from Pakistan. It was launched on 14 October 2004 and broadcasts entertainment programs in Punjabi. It also broadcasts English-language programs dubbed in Punjabi. APNA Channel is part of the APNA TV Network which also include the news channel APNA News and the Seraiki-language channel Kook TV.
Redco Pakistan Limited were a first-class cricket team sponsored by the Pakistan branch of Redco International. They played in the 1999-2000 season, competing in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Kan Mehtarzai railway station is a disused railway station located in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is on Zhob Valley Railway, the former narrow-gauge line between Bostan and Zhob, 16 miles west of Muslim Bagh. At 2224 meters above sea level, it was the highest railway station in Pakistan until service was discontinued in 1986.
Kotri–Attock Railway Line is one of four main railway lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins from Kotri Junction and ends at Attock City Junction. The total length of this railway line is 1,519 kilometers (944 mi). There are 73 railway stations from Kotri Junction to Attock City Junction on this line.
The Khushalgarh–Kohat–Thal Railway is one of several railway lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line originally ran from Golra Sharif Junction railway station to Khushalgarh station and onward to Thal station, however the line now ends at Kohat Cantonment station. The total length of this railway line is 272 kilometers (169 mi) to Thal station and 176 kilometers (109 mi) to Kohat. There are 16 railway stations from Golra Sharif Junction to Thal. In 1991, the Kohat-Thal section was abandoned by Pakistan Railways.
