The 44th Annual American Music Awards took place on November 20, 2016, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. [1] [2] It was broadcast on ABC and was hosted by Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah. [3] The 2016 AMAs fell 31% from 2015 among adults 18-49 and 26% among viewers, to 8.2 million watching the show, which was an all-time low in the show's history. [4]

"Bed of Lies" is a song by rapper Nicki Minaj, taken from her third studio album, The Pinkprint (2014). The song was first premiered at the 2014 MTV EMAs in Glasgow, Scotland and was later released on November 16, 2014, by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records as the fourth single from the album. The track features American singer-songwriter Skylar Grey on the chorus plus additional vocals on the verses as well as piano playing and was written by the latter along with Minaj. "Bed of Lies" features a restrained keyboard and lyrics that touch upon themes of "heartfelt litany of grievances" about an ex-lover.

The song was released as the lead single from the album on 29 January 2016 along with its own music video, which featured his girlfriend at the time, American model Gigi Hadid. It is Zayn's first single released after his departure from One Direction in March 2015. It debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100, making Malik the first British artist to debut at number one in the US with a debut single. It reached 1 billion views in YouTube on 23 September 2020.

"Side to Side" is a song by American singer Ariana Grande, featuring rapper Nicki Minaj. Grande co-wrote the song with Savan Kotecha, Alexander Kronlund, and Minaj along with its producers Max Martin and Ilya. It is a reggae-pop song.
