Diarra entered in the 200 metres at the 1987 World Athletics Championships. She ran 26.46 seconds to finish 3rd in her heat and did not advance. [2] She was also entered in the 100 metres, but did not start that race. [3]
Diarra qualified in both the 100 metres and 200 metres at the 1988 Olympics. In the 100 metres, she ran 12.87 seconds to place 8th in her heat without advancing. In the 200 m, she ran 25.81 seconds for 7th and did not advance. [4] Both times were personal bests. [5]
Diarra was impressed with the hanbok traditional Korean clothing at the 1988 Games worn for the Chuseok holiday. She said she planned to wear one of the dresses for her wedding ceremony. [6]
