Amnokgang Sports Club is a North Korean men's multi-sports club. [3] Based in Pyongyang,the club competes in the DPR Korea Premier Football League.
Affiliated with the Ministry of People's Security, [4] it was founded on 19 September 1947. [5]
The club is best known for its men's and women's football teams. The men's football team presently plays in the DPR Korea Premier League,and in various domestic cup competitions. They won several competitions in the 1960s,and won national titles in 2001,2006,and 2008. [6]
Amnokgang's primary rivals are April 25. April 25 belongs to the Ministry of People's Armed Forces,and the professional rivalry between the Military and Police carries over onto the sports field.[ citation needed ]

Ri Myong-guk is a North Korean former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Ri was known for his positioning and reflexes and spent his entire playing career at Pyongyang Sports Club in the DPR Korea League. Ri was also the captain of the North Korea national football team, making 118 appearances, more than any other player in the team's history, before retiring in 2019. Ri is currently the goalkeeper coach for his former club.
Kim Hyok-bong is a retired North Korean table tennis player representing the April 25 Sports Team. He competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he reached the fourth round, knocking out seeded South Korean Joo Se-hyuk in the third round. He won gold medals in mixed doubles events with Kim Jong at the 2013 World Championships and the 2014 Asian Games. The World Championship gold was the first for DPR Korea since 1977.
