Stuart Perry, better known by his ring name Amon is an American professional wrestler currently working for the American professional wrestling promotion Ohio Valley Wrestling. [3]
Perry made his professional wrestling debut on OVW War Is Necessary on May 11, 2013 where he teamed up with Robbie Walker to defeat Jonathan Ramser and Nick Dinsmore in a tag team match. [4] Perry is best known for his tenure with Ohio Valley Wrestling where he was the first ever grand slam champion. [5] He is a former OVW Heavyweight Champion, [6] Anarchy Champion, [7] [8] OVW Television Champion [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] and Tag Team Champion with Adam Revolver as The Tag Buddies. [15] [16] [17] [18] Perry worked for a long period of time teaming up with Billy Oceans (also known as Billy O) as Holy Water. He is also known for being part of The Void, a stable (also consisting of Chance Destiny, Crazzy Steve, Damion, Jacob Black, Houdini, Nigel Winters and Jade Dawson) which impersonated a group of christian school kids led by him in the period when he was going under the ring name Stu Perry. [19] He wrestled by several gimmicks such as "The Pastor of Disaster" and previously took part in The Congregation stable over which he turned on in 2015. Perry began training as a professional wrestler in college after issues with health and fitness which determined him to drive his attention to different professional wrestling promotions such as Ohio Valley Wrestling. [22] Perry is openly gay. He first came out at the age of 15, but he restricted the news only to his family and close friends before later coming out publicly to the wrestling world in 2018. [23]
Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Louisville, Kentucky. The company is currently run by Al Snow and Matt Jones, who took over from founder and former owner Nightmare Danny Davis.
The OVW Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling heavyweight championship owned by the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) promotion. The original championship was designed and created in 1997 by Reggie Parks. The title was introduced on August 17, 1997 at an OVW live event, then known as the NWA-OVW Heavyweight Championship due to OVW's relationship with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) governing body. OVW eventually parted ways with the NWA in October 2001, and the title was renamed the OVW Heavyweight Championship. OVW later became a developmental territory for the World Wrestling Entertainment organization, but their partnership eventually ceased on February 7, 2008. The title has no known weight-limit, even though it is a heavyweight championship. The title has also went through almost 3 different versions in its current twenty-four year run. With The first being made by Reggie Parks in 1997, which was then retired and vacated in early 2012. The second Version would then be made by Reggie Parks and Dave Millican for OVW. The current version however was designed & created by Top Rope Belts, and ended up being used from 2012 to the present day.
The OVW Tag Team Championship formerly known as the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship is the tag team titles of Ohio Valley Wrestling. Created in 1997, the first champions were Nick Dinsmore and Flash Flanagan. There have been 172 reigns shared between 105 different teams consisting of 143 distinctive champions. The current champions are Darkkloudz in their second reign, both as a team and individually. They defeated The Fanny Pak Party for the titles on February 10, 2022 at an OVW TV taping.
The IWA World Championship is the major title in the Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South based in Louisville, Kentucky. The title debuted at the "Crowning of a Champion" event on April 3, 1997, when Tower of Doom won a twelve man tournament. There have been a total of 122 reigns shared between 60 different champions and 19 vacancies. The current champion is Jake Crist who is in his second reign.
The OVW Women's Championship is a women's professional wrestling championship in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). The first holder of the title was ODB, who declared herself champion in August 2006. The belt was defended as any other championship in professional wrestling until Serena Deeb declared she would defend the belt under 24/7 rules in May 2008. The IWA Mid-South Tag Team Championship is a tag team title in the IWA Mid-South promotion. The title debuted in 1997, but was abandoned before the year was out, and had a brief revival in 2002.
