This is the discography of Andreas Johnson , a Swedish pop rock singer-songwriter, consists of six studio albums, a compilation album, nineteen singles, and eight music videos. In 1996, Johnson signed a recording contract with EMI and released his debut studio album, Cottonfish Tales, in April 1997. Though critically acclaimed, the record was less than a success commercially. [1] The first single released through his new contract with Warner Music Sweden, entitled "Glorious," topped the charts, reaching number three on the Italian Singles Chart, number four on the UK Singles Chart, and number eight on the Billboard 's Hot Dance Club Songs. [2] [3] [4] In 2000, "Glorious" received the gold certification by the Swedish Recording Industry Association (GLF) for distribution of over ten thousand singles. [5] Johnson released his second album, Liebling, in May 1999. The album sold 500,000 units and was followed by extensive touring, during which Johnson began work on his third solo record. [1]

Discography is the study and cataloging of published sound recordings, often by specified artists or within identified musical genres. The exact information included varies depending on the type and scope of the discography, but a discography entry for a specific recording will often list such details as the names of the artists involved, the time and place of the recording, the title of the piece performed, release dates, chart positions, and sales figures.

Andreas Johnson Swedish musician

Andreas Johnson is a Swedish pop/rock singer-songwriter and musician.

Pop rock is rock music with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude. Originating in the late 1950s as an alternative to normal rock and roll, early pop rock was influenced by the beat, arrangements, and original style of rock and roll. It may be viewed as a distinct genre field, rather than music that overlaps with pop and rock. The detractors of pop rock often deride it as a slick, commercial product, less authentic than rock music.

Deadly Happy was released in February 2002 and peaked at number 45 on the Sverigetopplistan chart. [6] The second single from the album, "Sing for Me," was certified gold by the GLF. [7] Taking a long break from public commitments, Johnson returned with Mr. Johnson, Your Room Is on Fire in November 2005, generating successful singles like "Show Me Love" and "Sunshine of Mine." He released his first compilation album, The Collector, in March 2007. The Collector is his most successful record to date; it charted on Billboard's European Top 100 Albums and was certified gold by the GLF for distribution of over twenty thousand albums. [8] [9] The compilation generated the gold single "A Little Bit of Love," that peaked at number three on the Sverigetopplistan chart. [6] [9] In 2008, Johnson released his fifth album, Rediscovered, which peaked at number 29 on the Sverigetopplistan chart. [6]

Sverigetopplistan is the Swedish national record chart, earlier known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association. Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list.

The European Top 100 Albums chart was the European adaptation of the Billboard 200 albums chart. It ran from March 1984 until December 2010. Also commonly referred to as Eurochart Top 100 Albums, the chart showcased the sales of an act in 19 European countries based on IFPI data.

Leonard Cohen discography discography

Leonard Cohen was a Canadian singer-songwriter and poet who was active in music from 1967 until his death in 2016. Cohen released 14 studio albums and eight live albums during the course of a recording career lasting almost 50 years, throughout which he remained an active poet. His entire catalogue is available on Columbia Records. His 1967 debut Songs of Leonard Cohen earned an RIAA gold record; he followed up with three more highly acclaimed albums: Songs from a Room (1969), Songs of Love and Hate (1971) and New Skin for the Old Ceremony (1974), before allowing Phil Spector to produce Death of a Ladies' Man for Warner Bros. Records in 1977. Cohen returned to Columbia in 1979 for Recent Songs, but the label declined to release his next album, Various Positions (1984) in the US, leaving it to American shops to import it from CBS Canada. In 1988, Columbia got behind Cohen again and gave full support to I'm Your Man, which brought his career to new heights, and Cohen followed it with 1992's The Future. Cohen then took a nine-year hiatus, and returned with Ten New Songs in 2001, which he made with Sharon Robinson, following this with Dear Heather (2004). In 2008 Cohen began touring for the first time in 15 years and, as well as the release of several live albums, he released Old Ideas (2012), which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 albums chart. This was the highest ranking ever for a Leonard Cohen album, and it became his first to top the Canadian Albums Chart, a feat he repeated with his followup, Popular Problems, released in 2014. Cohen released his final studio album, You Want It Darker, in October 2016, only 19 days prior to his death. His live albums included Live Songs (1973), Cohen Live: Leonard Cohen in Concert (1994), Live in London (2009), Songs from the Road (2010), from his 2008–2009 world tour, and Live at the Isle of Wight 1970 (2009).

Discogs Website and crowdsourced database about audio recordings

Discogs is a website and crowdsourced database of information about audio recordings, including commercial releases, promotional releases, and bootleg or off-label releases. The Discogs servers, currently hosted under the domain name discogs.com, are owned by Zink Media, Inc., and are located in Portland, Oregon, US. While the site was originally created with a goal of becoming the largest online database of electronic music, there are now releases in all genres and on all formats on the site. In fact, after the database was opened to contributions from the public, Rock music began to take over as the most prevalent genre. Discogs currently contains over 11.6 million releases, by over 6 million artists, across over 1.3 million labels, contributed from over 456,000 contributor user accounts — with these figures constantly growing as users continually add previously unlisted releases to the site over time.
