Ang is described in the Mahabharat as a kingdom in the eastern parts of India.

In the Ramayan, the Ang king Romapad was a friend of Awadh Kosal king Dasharath. Kosal Princess Shāntā, elder to Raghav Ram, lived as the daughter of Romapad, since he was childless. Duryodhan established Karn as the ruler of Ang in the Mahabharat. It is believed that there were many Ang kings who ruled different parts of Ang kingdom, contemporary to Karn. Champapuri was the capital of Ang ruled by Karn. Magadh (south-west Bihar) king Jarasandh gifted another city called Malinipuri, to the Ang king Karn.[ citation needed ]

In the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, Yudhishtira is regarded as the eldest son of King Pandu and his first wife, Kunti. He was blessed by Yama to the couple. Yudhishthira is the first among the five Pandavas. In the epic, he becomes the emperor of Indraprastha and later of Hastinapura (Kuru). In the Hindu epic Mahabharata, Sahadeva was the youngest of the five Pandava brothers. Nakula and Sahadev were twins born to Madri who had invoked the Ashwini Kumaras. Sahadeva had two wives Draupadi and Vijaya. Draupadi was the common wife of Pandavas while Vijaya was his own wife.

Shakuni also known as Saubala ,Gandhar naresh, Gandhararaja (Sanskrit: गान्धारराज, and Subalraja : सुबलराज, lit. "King of the Kingdom of Subala" was the prince of the Gandhara Kingdom, later to become the King after his father's death. He is the main antagonist in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. He was the brother of Gandhari and hence Duryodhana's maternal uncle.

Virata Kingdom Ancient Indian Kingdom

Virata was a kingdom ruled by the Matsya king by the name Virata. It was here that the Pandavas spent their 13th year of anonymity after their 12 years of forest-life in the forests of Kamyaka and Dwaita. Its capital was Virata Nagari, modern Bairat in the Jaipur district of Rajasthan. Akhnoor, a town in Jammu and Kashmir is also considered by some as the Virat Nagar. Upaplavya was another city in this kingdom where the Pandavas and their allies camped before the beginning of the great Kurukshetra War.

Kunti A female character in the Hindu epic Mahabharata

In Mahabharata, Kunti or Pritha was the daughter of Shurasena and the foster daughter of his cousin Kuntibhoja. She married Pandu and became the mother of Karna, Yudhishthira, Bhima and Arjuna. She adopted her step sons, Nakula and Sahadeva, and became their foster mother. Her brother was Vasudeva, father of Krishna, Balarama, and Subhadra. She was very beautiful and intelligent. She is often regarded as one of the protagonists of the Mahabharata.

Mahabharat is an epic Indian television series based on the ancient Sanskrit epic of the same name. The original airing consisted of a total of ninety-four episodes and were broadcast from 2 October 1988 to 24 June 1990 on Doordarshan. It was produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by his son, Ravi Chopra. The music was composed by Raj Kamal. Karna was the only character in Mahabharata who had all these qualities. The gods knew Draupadi’s wish well ahead of time and gave all these qualities to one man. No one person had cumulation of those qualities as "Karn" except that all these qualities had been equally divided in Pandavas . King Dhritarashtra praised Karna, comparing him favorably to those like Bhishma and Drona. In this military adventure, Karna waged wars all over the world and made submission of entire kingdoms in the world. Among these include the Panchals, the kings of the Himalayas, the Angas, the Kalingas, the Magadhas, Chedi, Yavana, etc. Having thus conquered and brought under his subjection the entire world, Karna came back to Hastinapura with immense wealth and power the world had never witnessed before.

Sambalpur State

Sambalpur Raj, also known as Hirakhand samrajya was a sovereign state founded in the 16th century AD. It ruled over a vast kingdom spread across Western Odisha and Eastern Chhattisgarh in central-eastern India prior to the Maratha occupation in 1800 AD. From 1849 AD it was integrated with British Raj as a British District. Its capital was present-day Sambalpur city in Western Odisha.
