Angela Dawn Chuck (born 14 February 1981) is a Jamaican former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. [1] She won a total of two medals, gold in the 200 m freestyle (2:07.81), and bronze in the 100 m freestyle (58.91), at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, El Salvador. [2] Chuck is a two-time Olympian (2000 and 2004) and a psychology graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. [3]
Chuck made her first Jamaican team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where she competed in the women's 50 m freestyle. Swimming in heat four, she picked up a second spot and forty-ninth overall by 0.60 of a second behind leader Yekaterina Tochenaya of Kazakhstan in 27.48. [4]
At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Chuck qualified for the 100 m freestyle, by posting a FINA B-standard entry time of 57.59 from the Caribbean Championships in Kingston. [5] [6] She challenged seven other swimmers on the third heat, including Olympic veterans Dominique Diezi of Switzerland and Lara Heinz of Luxembourg. She edged out Iceland's Ragnheiður Ragnarsdóttir to take a seventh spot by 0.14 of a second, outside her entry time of 58.33. Chuck failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed thirty-ninth overall in the preliminaries. [7] [8]
Shortly after her second Olympics, Chuck retired from swimming to work as an assistant coach for the Blue Devils at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. [3]
Alia Shanee Atkinson, СD is a Jamaican five-time Olympian and a former competitive swimmer whose international competition career spanned 19 years, 2003 to 2021 inclusive, at the senior level. At short course World Swimming Championships, she is a ten-time medalist in individual events, including four gold medals, four silver medals, and two bronze medals. She won a total of 124 medals, of which 74 were gold medals, at Swimming World Cup circuits over the course of her career. She won 14 total medals in individual events, 11 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze, from her first three Central American and Caribbean Games, in 2006, 2010, and 2018.
Lara Heinz is a retired Luxembourgian swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She is a two-time national record holder for both the long and short course freestyle.
Mariya Bugakova is an Uzbekistani former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly and sprint freestyle events. She represented Uzbekistan at three editions of the Olympic Games. She is also the elder sister of backstroke swimmer and two-time Olympian Danil Bugakov. Bugakova is a law school graduate at the Tashkent State University of Economics.
Ragnheiður Ragnarsdóttir, also known as Ragga Ragnars is an Icelandic actress and former swimmer, who specialised in sprint freestyle events. She is a multiple-time Icelandic record holder in both long and short course freestyle. After retiring from swimming, Ragnheiður studied acting and played the role of Gunnhild on the TV series Vikings from 2018 to 2020.
Ravil Nachaev is an Uzbek former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. He is a three-time Olympian, and a gold medalist in the 50 m freestyle at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea.

Siobhan Trichelle Cropper is a 2-time Olympian and swimmer from Trinidad and Tobago, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. Cropper represented Trinidad and Tobago in two editions of the Olympic Games, and eventually captured the 100 m butterfly title at the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She also holds three Trinidadian records in a sprint freestyle and butterfly double, two NCAA championship titles and fourteen All-American honors, while attending Stanford University.
