Angelo Ciocca (born 28 June 1975) is an Italian politician and member of the European Parliament. [1]
On 7 July 2016, Ciocca succeeded at the European Parliament to Gianluca Buonanno, who died on 5 June in a car crash. On 23 October 2018, he trampled on a letter from the EU Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Pierre Moscovici on the rejection of the Italian government financial law, boasting then the gesture in that the shoe had been produced in Italy, even if he still getting a salary from the Commission . [2]
Ciocca had been suspected of consorting with the Italian criminal organization 'Ndrangheta in Pavia in 2009. [3]
In January 2019, Ciocca was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months (with conditional suspension of the sentence and non-mention) as part of the penal trial concerning the Lombardy Region reimbursement scandal. [4]

The 'Ndrangheta is an Italian Mafia-type association based in the peninsular region of Calabria and dating back to the 19th century. Although loosely structured, it is considered one of the most powerful organized crime groups in the world. It is characterized by a horizontal structure made up of autonomous clans known as 'ndrine, based almost exclusively on blood ties. Since the 1950s, following wide-scale emigration from Calabria, 'Ndrangheta clans dispersed to other European countries, Australia and the Americas. Currently, its main activity is drug trafficking, but it also deals with human trafficking, sex trafficking, arms trafficking, money laundering, racketeering, extortion, and loan sharking.
Lega Nord, whose complete name is Lega Nord per l'Indipendenza della Padania, is a right-wing, federalist, populist and conservative political party in Italy. In the run-up of the 2018 general election, the party was rebranded as Lega (transl. League), without changing its official name. Domenico Libri, also known as Don Mico, was an Italian criminal and a member of the 'Ndrangheta in Calabria. Libri was a fugitive since June 1989 and included in the list of most wanted fugitives in Italy until his capture in September 1992. At the time he was considered to be the 'Ndrangheta’s number one.
Girolamo Molè, also known as Mommo, is an Italian criminal and a member of the 'Ndrangheta in Calabria. He is currently serving several life sentences.
Giorgio De Stefano is an Italian criminal and a member of the 'Ndrangheta in Calabria, a Mafia-type criminal organisation in Calabria. He belongs to the De Stefano 'ndrina, based in the Archi neighbourhood in the city of Reggio Calabria, and is a cousin of the historical boss Paolo De Stefano. He has a degree in criminal law and is often referred to as "the lawyer". According to anti-mafia investigators, he represents "the brains" of the De Stefano clan, able to elaborate alliances and strategies, with a typically managerial approach, identifying the most lucrative criminal activities to be implemented.
The Siderno Group is a criminal association in Canada, Australia and Italy related to the 'Ndrangheta, a Mafia-type organization in Calabria. The association is labelled the "Siderno Group" because its members primarily came from the town of Siderno on the Ionian coast in Calabria and migrated to Canada and Australia in the 1950s.

The 2019 Italian government crisis was a political event in Italy that occurred between August and September 2019. It includes the events that follow the announcement of the Minister of the Interior and leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, that he would revoke League's support of the cabinet and ask the President of the Republic to call a snap election.
