Anikha Surendran (born 27 November 2004), formerly known as Baby Anikha, is an Indian actress known for her work in the Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu film industries. Starting her career as child artist, she acted in Kadha Thudarunnu (2010), Yennai Arindhaal (2015) and Viswasam (2019). [1] [2] She has received awards for acting. She became a lead actress with the Telugu film Butta Bomma (2023), an official remake of the Malayalam film Kappela (2020). [3]

Early life and education

Anikha was born on 27 November 2004 in Manjeri, Kerala. [4] She was educated at Nazareth School, Manjeri, and at Devagiri CMI Public School, Kozhikode. [5]

Career

Anikha's debut as a child artist was in the film Kadha Thudarunnu in 2010. Subsequently, she appeared in Tamil films, including Yennai Arindhaal and Viswasam, [6] and the web series Queen. [7] In her first film Chotta Mumbai (2007), she had an uncredited role of a few seconds in the climax. [8]

Apart from a small role in the 1990 Tamil film En Veedu En Kanavar, his professional career began three years later with his debut as a lead actor in Tamil cinema with Amaravathi (1993). Despite being a moderate success, the film helped him obtain more modelling assignments. He followed it up the same year with Prema Pusthakam, his only Telugu film to date. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan and Arun Vijay in the lead roles, while Anikha, Parvathy Nair, Vivek, Ashish Vidyarthi, Suman and Avinash Yelandur appear in supporting roles. It is also the final film of Menon's police trilogy after Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The film revolves around a former police officer's battle to protect his step-daughter from his arch-enemy.

Viswasam (transl. Loyalty) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Siva and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Nayanthara and Jagapathi Babu in the lead roles, alongside Vivek, Thambi Ramaiah, Robo Shankar, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Anikha Surendran, Kalairani, Sujatha Sivakumar, Rajitha and R. N. R. Manohar. It is the second collaboration between Ajith with Siva out of three films. The film follows Thookudurai, a villiage ruffian, who goes to take on Gautham Veer after trying to patch his marriage with Niranjana.

<i>Yennai Arindhaal</i> (soundtrack) 2015 soundtrack album by Harris Jayaraj

Yennai Arindhaal is the soundtrack album for the 2015 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film of the same name, co-written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Ajith Kumar. The soundtrack album composed by Harris Jayaraj, consists of seven tracks, with six tracks written by Thamarai and one song written by Vignesh Shivan. This marks the first time Harris Jayaraj is composing for an Ajith Kumar-starrer film. The audio rights of the soundtrack album were marketed and purchased by Sony Music India. Prior to the soundtrack release, a single track titled "Adhaaru Adhaaru" from the film was released on 11 December 2014. The complete soundtrack album was released on 1 January 2015, coinciding with New Year's Day. It was met with a positive critical reception, with critics and music listeners praising Harris Jayaraj's musicianship and the composition for an Ajith-starrer film, as well as its contribution to Gautham's reunion after Vaaranam Aayiram (2008).

Viswasam is the soundtrack album composed by D. Imman for the Indian Tamil-language action drama film of the same name directed by Siva, starring Ajith Kumar and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films. The film was initially announced with Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer, who left the project citing schedule conflicts and several other composers were rumoured to score music before the team approached Imman as the music director. This film marked Imman's first collaboration with Ajith Kumar and Siva.

"Butta Bomma" is an Indian Telugu-language song by singer Armaan Malik and composed by S. Thaman from the 2020 soundtrack album Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo of the film of the same name. The lyrics are written by Ramajogayya Sastry. The song's lyrical version was released on 23 December 2019, while the full video song was released on 21 February 2020 under the music label Aditya Music. The music video accompanying the single was filmed at Annapurna Studios.
