Harini (born 30 April 1979) is an Indian film playback singer and classical singer who sings in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada films, working with many leading film composers. She is married to another playback singer, Tippu. [1] [2] [3]

Contents

Harini learnt Carnatic music from Gowri and Radha Viswanathan from the age of four. [4] She used to participate in school competitions and in one such competition which she won, A. R. Rahman who distributed the prizes invited the winners to his studio to record their voices. Subsequently, she was called by Suhasini Maniratnam to sing "Nila Kaigirathu" for her first film Indira . [4] Her first song, "Nila Kaigirathu", was recorded at the age of 15. [4] Since then, she has received offers from various music directors across South India. Within a career spanning a decade, she sang over 3500 songs four south Indian languages in which 35 devotional albums in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. [4]

Harini rendered a series of devotional songs in 2012 on Lord Amman, Ganesha, Perumal among others, titled Om Nava Sakthi Jaya Jaya Sakthi, Vindhaigal Purindhai Nee En Vazhville, and Uchi Pillaiyare Charanam along with ace singer P. Unni Krishnan. The music was composed and produced by Manachanallur Giridharan. [5]

She did playback for over one thousand Indian movies recording over 20,000 songs. In addition, she recorded thousands of devotionals and private albums and also participated in numerous solo concerts in India and abroad.

She was 15 years old when she made her singing debut in Kannathil Muthamittal. She debuted as a Dubbing Artist in director Krishna's Sillunu Oru Kaadhal rendering her voice for Bhumika Chawla, after being referred by one of A. R. Rahman's sound engineers. She debuted as a composer with a short lullaby titled Laali, which she also sang and released as part of Instagram's #1MinMusic. Mukesh Mohamed is an Indian playback singer. As a singer, he sings melody, folk and gana songs. He has sung more than 500 film songs in various Indian languages. He has also recorded a number of devotional albums. He has performed in numerous live concerts across the world, and has regular appearance in Ilaiyaraaja’s musical orchestras. Mukesh Mohamed has sung some songs including "Vaa Saamy" in Annatthe.
