Harini Ramachandran, professionally known as Megha (born 18 March 1987) is a Tamil playback singer, singing predominantly in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. She is also a co-founder of School of Excellence, that offers NLP programs and models. [1]

Early life

Megha is a great grand daughter of Papanasam Sivan, a Carnatic composer. [2] Born in Chennai, she relocated to Bangalore where she did most of her schooling. She did her bachelor's degree in Commerce in Chennai and pursued her master's degree in Human Resources whilst making a foray into the field of playback singing in 2007. She has completed grade 8 from Trinity College London in Western classical music under the guidance of renowned musician Augustine Paul from Chennai. [3]

Career

Megha is a playback singer in the South Indian film industry. She was introduced into the film industry by music director Vijay Antony in the film Naan Avanillai (2007), and has worked with music directors including Ilaiyaraaja, A. R. Rahman, Harris Jayaraj, Devi Sri Prasad, Vijay Antony and D. Imman. After finding success in singing, she developed an interest in learning neuro-linguistic programming techniques. She got an opportunity to learn it from John Grinder, the founder of NLP. [4] To pursue her interest further, in 2011 she co-founded School of Excellence to offer programs on NLP modelling to overcome personal issues and depressions. [5] After exhibiting NLP sessions and programs for individuals, she along with co-founder of School of Excellence started working on conducting events and sessions to cover mass people, including NLP sessions for underprivileged kids of missionary schools in Mumbai to boost confidence and overcome personal challenges. [6] During this phase, Megha and his business partner started developing and innovating on a new technology for personal development called Excellence Installation Technology (EIT). She has been working on developing a team of EIT experts, trained by them to provide business, health and legacy acceleration services through personal transformation using EIT across the country. Live performances

Megha has performed live in various concerts, star nites [7] [8] and with music directors such as Harris Jayaraj on the Concert (world) tour – "Harris: On The Edge". [9] [10]

She actively performs in western classical concerts in Chennai and with the Madras Musical Association choir. [11] [12]

Unnale Unnale is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic comedy film The movie is written, cinematograph and directed by Jeeva and produced by Oscar Ravichandran. It stars Vinay, Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee in lead roles; Srinath, Raju Sundaram and Sathish Krishnan in supporting roles; and Lekha Washington, Aravind Akash, Uma Padmanabhan, and Vasundhara Kashyap in cameo roles. Raju Sundaram also worked as a choreographer in the film. This film marked Vinay's feature film debut and Tanisha's only Tamil film that she ever acted. The soundtrack and flim has received a cult status over the years.

The Filmfare Best Music Director Award is given to film composers by the Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards South for Tamil (Kollywood) films. A. R. Rahman is the most frequent winner with seventeen wins, which also includes nine consecutive wins between 1992 and 2000. Harris Jayaraj follows A. R. Rahman with five wins.

<i>Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa</i> (soundtrack) 2010 soundtrack album by A. R. Rahman

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is the soundtrack of the 2010 Tamil romance film of the same name, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman, collaborating with Menon for the first time. The lyrics for the songs were penned by Menon's usual associate, Thamarai along with Kalyani Menon and Kaithapram, the latter penning the Malayalam lyrics in the album. The album was released on 25 December 2009 in London with several film personalities participating at the grand function. It was the first time that a Tamil film audio release was held in London. It was followed by an audio launch function which was also held in Chennai on 6 January 2010. Sony Music India released the album. The album opened to positive reviews from music critics. The audio was marked as #1 in Asia, in terms of advance bookings. The album was ranked among the best musicals of 2010. A collector's edition of the film was released on 1 December 2010, which featured two unreleased tracks. The same soundtrack album was reused in the simultaneous Telugu version Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) and its Hindi remake Ekk Deewana Tha (2012).

Krishna Iyer is a Tamil cinema Indian playback singer from Chennai, India who performs Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu songs. Maattrraan (transl. Alternate) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by K. V. Anand, who co-wrote the script with Subha, and produced by AGS Entertainment. The film stars Suriya in dual roles as a conjoined twin brothers, along with Kajal Aggarwal in the female lead. It also stars an ensemble supporting cast. The film features music composed by Harris Jayaraj, cinematography handled by Soundararajan, editing done by Anthony, respectively. V. Srinivas Mohan, handled the visual effects.

Anniyan is the soundtrack album composed by Harris Jayaraj for the 2005 Indian Tamil film of the same name directed by S. Shankar. It eventually marked Harris' maiden collaboration, replacing his usual music director A. R. Rahman, who worked for his previous ventures as Rahman was busy with the production of the international musicals Bombay Dreams and Lord of the Rings. Harris Jayaraj began working on the soundtrack in early 2004 and completed within April 2005. But the re-recording of the soundtrack and score which began on the same month took place for more than 45 days, which resulted in delaying the film's release till 17 June 2005.
