The Staple Singers were an American gospel, soul, and R&B singing group. Roebuck "Pops" Staples, the patriarch of the family, formed the group with his children Cleotha, Pervis, and Mavis. Yvonne replaced her brother when he was drafted into the U.S. Army, and again in 1970. They are best known for their 1970s hits "Respect Yourself", "I'll Take You There", "If You're Ready ", and "Let's Do It Again". While the family name is Staples, the group used "Staple" commercially.

Maurette Brown Clark is an American gospel musician. She started her solo music career in 1998 with the release of How I Feel on Verity Records. They all charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Clark has also been a member of Richard Smallwood's group, Vision, since its inception in 1996
Angela Spivey, is an American gospel musician and artist. She started her music career, in 1995, with the release of Victorious Praise by Aleho International Music. She released three more subsequent albums with Aleho International, and those were the following: 1997's In the Church, 2000's Glory, Honor and Praise!, and 2002's Determined. Her next album, Angela Spivey Live with the Voices of Victory!, was released by Koch Records in 2007. The next album, He Keeps His Promise, was released in 2012 by Innovative Records. This album was her breakthrough on the Billboard magazine charts, which it placed on the Gospel Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts.
Natalie Wilson, is an American gospel musician and artist. She started her music career, in 2000, with the release of Girl Director by Interscope Records. This would be her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums and the R&B Albums charts. Her second album, Good Life, was released in 2003 by GospoCentric. The album would chart again on the two aforementioned charts.
Lisa McClendon is an American jazz-gospel-soul artist. She started her music career, in 2002, with the release of My Diary, Your Life by Shabach Entertainment. Her second album, Soul Music, released in 2003 by Epic Records and Integrity Gospel. This would be her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. The third album, Live from the House of Blues, was released in 2006 by Columbia Records alongside Epic Records and Integrity Gospel. The album would chart again, but this time around on the Heatseekers Albums chart as well. She would release an independent album on Blusoul Records in 2009, Reality, and this charted on the Gospel Albums chart. In 2015, she released the long-awaited album 5AM, The Sound of Waking up to Him.
Charles Hercules Nicks, Jr. was an American gospel musician and former pastor, organist, and accompanist of St. James Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Rev. Nicks released his first musical project in 1985, Come Unto Jesus with Sound of Gospel. He would release some albums while he was still alive, and others posthumously that would chart on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. Those all got released by Sound of Gospel, which were the following: Free Spirit, Free Spirit Vol 2, St. Louis & East St. Louis Chapter of GMWA, and The Unforgettable Years.
Douglas Lee Miller was an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1984, with the release of, I Still Love the Name Jesus, that was released by Atlanta International Records. This album along with five others placed on exclusively the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. He released albums with A&M Records, Light Records, Word Records, Atlanta International Records, and Rejoice Music Group.

She started her music career when she attended Lee College in 1984, singing with the New Harvest singers and releasing her album in 1987 "Judy Jacobs: with New Harvest." published by Pathway Press. She has released eight more albums, since her first release, with two more labels New Day Records and Daywind Records. Two albums have charted on the Billboard magazine charts, which have exclusively come on the Gospel Albums chart.
Kimberly A. Stratton is an American gospel musician. Her first album, I'm in This Place, was released by Glorious Music in 1994, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. She released, Live in Chicago with the A.F.C. Choir, with Glorious Records in 1995. The third album, Almost Forgot to Worship, was released in 2007 with Kingdom Records.
Sara Jordan Powell is an American gospel musician. Her first works, "Touch Somebody's Life" and "When Jesus Comes," were released in 1972, and got significant radio airtime. She released an album that was produced by James Cleveland, "Touch Somebody's Life," which came out in 1975 on Savoy Records. Powell released four more albums on that label: 1980's "I Must Tell Jesus", 1990's "Sara Jordan Powell" and "When Jesus Comes to Stay," and 1995's "The Soul of Sara Jordan Powell." Subsequently, she released one album with Compendia Music Group that same year, "Live in Houston." Her music has even been performed at the White House—in 1979 for President Jimmy Carter; she was joined by Chuck Berry, Billy Eckstine, Evelyn "Champagne" King, and Andraé Crouch. President Ronald Reagan appointed her to serve on the Year of the Bible Committee. She later took the opportunity to minister to President Bill Clinton in Memphis, Tennessee, along with saxophonist Dr. Vernard Johnson, at the request of Bishop Louis Henry Ford, who was then presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ (www.cogic.org/).
Sister Lucille Pope was an American gospel musician, and leader of The Pearly Gates. Her first album, Nancey Jackson, was released by Savoy Records in 1991. She released music as singles throughout the 1960s and 1970s, yet no albums were recorded. Her albums came out in the 1990s with Atlanta International Records, with The Great Reunion, being their only release to chart on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart.
Bishop Jacqueline E. "Jackie" McCullough is the founder and Pastor of The International Gathering at Beth Rapha. Bishop McCullough is also an author and a gospel musician. Kelli Evon Williams-Malcolm is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Kelli Williams, was released by Sony Music Entertainment in 1995. The subsequent album, I Get Lifted, was released in 1998 by Word Records in association with Epic Records, and this was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums chart. She released, In the Myx, with the Word Records in tandem with Epic Records in 2000.
LaShell Renee Griffin is an American gospel musician. Her first album, Free, was released by Epic Records in 2004. This was a Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon four charts, The Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, R&B Albums, and Heatseekers Albums. She released two more subsequent albums, but they have not placed on any charts.
Margaret Bell-Byars is an American gospel musician, who is a traditional black gospel and Christian R&B recording artist. She started her music career, in 1980, when enrolled at Oral Roberts University, signing in their choir. Her only studio album, Over and Over, was released in 1991, with Warner Alliance Music. This album was her breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts.
The McCrary Sisters are an American gospel music quartet from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2010 by sisters Ann McCrary, Deborah McCrary, Regina McCrary, and Alfreda McCrary. They have released four studio albums and one live album: Our Journey (2010), All the Way (2013), Let's Go (2015), Live (2017) and A Very McCrary Christmas (2019).
