Anthro New England (ANE) is a furry convention that is held annually in the Greater Boston area of the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It was first held in 2015 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but moved into Boston in 2018 at the Boston Park Plaza. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 event was held online [1] . Since 2020, Anthro New England has become one of the top ten furry conventions in the world [2] . Anthro New England moved to a larger venue, the Westin Boston Seaport District hotel for 2023. The latest event in 2024 reached a new attendance record of 4,482 attendees [3] .

History

Anthro New England was organized in 2014 with the goal of hosting a Furry convention in Greater Boston [4] . Their first event was held from February 27 to March 1, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During the first convention, 165 people took part in the fursuit parade.

By 2018, Anthro New England had become one of the largest annual furry conventions in the United States [4] , with the 2019 event attracting over 2,000 attendees [5] . From 2022-2024, Anthro New England's attendance has increased by over one thousand each year, remaining in the top ten largest furry conventions in the world. [2]

Eurofurence is a furry convention, initially held in changing places in Europe every year, but staying in Germany since 2004. It was originally started in 1995 as a private gathering by nineteen European furry fans who met on the Internet. Attendance has been steadily rising since then, to 3,495 at Eurofurence 26, making it the second largest furry convention outside the United States after NordicFuzzCon. The name of the convention derives from its American back-then-counterpart ConFurence, emphasising the European nature of the gathering.

Midwest FurFest (MFF) is a furry convention that takes place in Rosemont, Illinois, usually on the second weekend after Thanksgiving. MFF is presented by Midwest Furry Fandom Inc, an Illinois Educational Not-For-Profit Corporation that exists primarily for the purpose of holding an annual convention to facilitate education in anthropomorphic literature and art. MAGFest is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to make the world a better place through video game art, music, and culture. They hold multiple events throughout the year, with their flagship event being an annual festival held in the Washington metropolitan area the National Harbor. The events feature concerts by chiptune artists and video game cover bands, educational panels and activities, free-to-play arcade cabinets, a bring your own computer (BYOC) LAN party, community jam spaces, and charity speedruns & auctions.

Minecon is an annual interactive livestream and fan convention about the video game Minecraft, hosted by Mojang. The first gathering in 2010 was known as MinecraftCon. The event then went by the Minecon name from 2011 to 2019. The Minecon 2011 convention was held in Las Vegas and celebrated the launch of the game with Minecraft-related discussion panels and gaming areas. The most recent in-person convention, Minecon 2016, held in Anaheim, had 12,000 attendees. An attempt at returning to in-person events was prevented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deadlock Pro-Wrestling (DPW) is an American independent professional wrestling promotion, founded on November 1, 2021, by Anthony Douglas, James Darnell, and John Blud. On December 11, DPW taped the first episode of their broadcast show, Fire, which aired five days later on YouTube. Since then, new episodes of DPW's Fire and Spark programs have aired on YouTube and the promotion's streaming platform, DPW On Demand. The name of the promotion is derived from the Deadlock Podcast, which is hosted by the promotion's founders.
