Anthro New England (ANE) is a furry convention that is held annually in the Greater Boston area of the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It was first held in 2015 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but moved into Boston in 2018 at the Boston Park Plaza. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 event was held online. [1] Since 2020, Anthro New England has become one of the top ten furry conventions in the world. [2] Anthro New England moved to a larger venue, the Westin Boston Seaport District hotel for 2023. The latest event in 2024 reached a new attendance record of 4,482 attendees. [3]

History

Anthro New England was organized in 2014 with the goal of hosting a furry convention in Greater Boston. [4] Their first event was held from February 27 to March 1, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During the first convention, 165 people took part in the fursuit parade.

By 2018, Anthro New England had become one of the largest annual furry conventions in the United States, [4] with the 2019 event attracting over 2,000 attendees. [5] From 2022 to 2024, Anthro New England's attendance has increased by over one thousand each year, remaining in the top ten largest furry conventions in the world. [2]

BronyCon was an annual fan convention held on the East Coast of the United States for fans of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, among them adult and teenage bronies. Eleven events were held, with the final one in August 2019 drawing in 10,215 attendees. Though originally planned to run through 2025, it was announced at the closing ceremonies of the 2018 convention that 2019 would be the final year, tying in with the final season of the show.

Minecon is an annual interactive livestream and fan convention about the video game Minecraft, hosted by Mojang. The first gathering in 2010 was known as MinecraftCon. The event then went by the Minecon name from 2011 to 2019. The Minecon 2011 convention was held in Las Vegas and celebrated the launch of the game with Minecraft-related discussion panels and gaming areas. The most recent in-person convention, Minecon 2016, held in Anaheim, had 12,000 attendees. An attempt at returning to in-person events was prevented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bryn Catherine Apprill is an American voice actress. Her voice acting career began when she was a high school student in 2013, and since then, she has been providing voices for a number of English-language versions of Japanese anime films and television series.

Miku Expo is a series of world tours organized by Crypton Future Media starring the virtual singing software character Hatsune Miku. The performances include notable user-created Vocaloid songs and digital choreography of Miku dancing, projected onto glass screens. The tour started on May 28, 2014 in Jakarta, Indonesia, with new shows added every year, with the exception of 2021, 2022 and 2023 where Hatsune Miku-related events were held virtually and livestreamed on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube and Niconico. In-person Miku Expo shows were resumed on April 4, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada. As of 2024, the tour consisted of 82 shows spanning the continents of Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania.
