Antonio Satriano (born 30 October 2003) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a centre-forward for Serie C Group A club Trento, on loan from Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo.
Born in Locri, [1] [2] [3] Satriano started playing football at the local grassroots school Audax Gioiosa, [1] [2] [4] before moving to Crotone in 2014. [1] [2] [5] [6] In the spring of 2018, aged 15, he was scouted by Roma during a match between the clubs' respective under-16 teams, [2] [3] [7] and subsequently joined the Giallorossi's youth sector a few months later. [2] [3] [4] [7]
Having come through Roma's youth ranks, [1] [2] [3] [5] the forward signed his first professional contract with the club in September 2020, [8] before reaching the final of the under-19 national championship in May 2022. [6] [9] [10]
On 5 January 2023, Satriano joined Dutch side Heracles Almelo on a permanent deal, signing a contract until June 2027. [11] [12] [13] The transfer included an estimated fee of €400,000, with a 20% sell-on clause in favor of Roma on a future move. [14]
The forward subsequently made his professional debut one week later, on 12 January, coming on as a substitute for Samuel Armenteros at the 72nd minute of a 0–1 KNVB Cup loss against Go Ahead Eagles. [15] Three days later, he also made his league debut, coming on for Abdenego Nankishi in the final minutes of a 0–3 Eerste Divisie loss against PEC Zwolle. [16] On 13 February, he made his first professional start in a 0–2 league win against MVV Maastricht. [17] During the season, despite missing out on the last months due to a fifth metatarsal fracture, [18] Satriano helped Heracles gain automatic promotion back to the Eredivisie after just one year. [19]
On 23 January 2024, Satriano was loaned out to Serie C side Trento until the end of the season, with the deal including an option to buy. [20] [21] On 5 March, he scored his first goal for the club in a 0–1 league win over Alessandria. [22] [23]
Satriano has represented Italy at youth international level.
After taking part in training camps with the under-15 (in 2017) and under-17 national teams (in 2019), [24] [25] he then went on to play for the under-20 national team. [26] [27]
Satriano is a centre-forward, who has been regarded for his finishing, his physique and his technical skills. [1] [2] Despite being naturally right-footed, he can still use his left foot effectively. [1] [2]

Calciopoli was a sports scandal in Italy's top professional association football league Serie A and to a lesser extent Serie B. Involving various clubs and numerous executives, both from the same clubs and from the main Italian football bodies, as well as some referees and referee assistants, the scandal was uncovered in May 2006, when a number of telephone tappings showed relations between clubs' executives and referee organizations during the football seasons of 2004–05 and 2005–06, being accused of selecting favourable referees. This implicated league champions Juventus and several other clubs, including Fiorentina, Lazio, AC Milan, and Reggina. In July 2006, Juventus was stripped of the 2004–05 Serie A title, which was left unassigned, and was downgraded to last place in the 2005–06 Serie A, as the title was subsequently awarded to Inter Milan, and relegated to Serie B. Initially Fiorentina and Lazio were also relegated though this was later overturned on appeal, meanwhile all five clubs received points penalties for the following season. In July 2006, the Italy national football team won the 2006 FIFA World Cup, beating the France national football team 5–3 in a penalty shoot-out following a 1–1 draw at the conclusion of extra time; eight Juventus players were on the football pitch in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final, five for Italy and three for France. Many prison sentences were handed out to sporting directors and referees but all were acquitted in 2015, after almost a decade of investigation, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, except for a one-year sentence confirmed to referee Massimo De Santis.
