Anuja Iyer is an Indian actress and model who works in the Tamil film industry. She made her acting debut in the low budget horror flick Sivi (2007) and became noted for her performances in Ninaithale Inikkum (2009) and Unnaipol Oruvan (2009). Since April 2010, she has been working as a columnist for the popular entertainment website Behindwoods. [1]
Anuja was born as Sandhya into a Tamil Brahmin family in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. [2] She did her schooling at Rosary Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Santhome, Chennai and went on to pursue a B.Com (Honours) degree at Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi. [2] She then studied under the Sanwa Bank scholarship programme, and finished her Master's degree in Advertising and Public Relations in Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Delhi, graduating with a PRSI (Public Relations Society of India) Award. [2]
Her first film was the horror flick, Sivi (2007), in which she played a ghost. She was praised for her performance. [3] Her second film, Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai (2008), termed as Tamil cinema's first "urban centric film" received critical acclaim, winning awards at international film festivals for its innovative approach to film making. Her role was once again lauded by critics and audiences. [4] In 2009, she appeared in the Prithviraj Starrer college drama Ninaithale Inikkum , a remake of the 2006 Malayalam film Classmates . Anuja played the character of a reserved Muslim college student Shalini who attempts to take revenge on the murderer of her lover. Later that year, she starred in Unnaipol Oruvan and its Telugu version Eeenadu alongside veteran actors Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh. Her portrayal of Natasha Rajkumar, a television journalist, was appreciated by critics and fetched her a nomination for the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 56th Filmfare Awards South.
In 2013, Anuja hosted season 2 of Raj TV's Carnatic music reality-talent show, Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham . [5]
In 2015, she got engaged to entrepreneur Bharat Ram. [6]

Kannamoochi Yenada? is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by V. Priya. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sandhya, Sathyaraj and Radhika Sarathkumar, with Sripriya, Radha Ravi and Manobala in supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film, a remake of the 2005 American film Guess Who, which itself is based on the 1967 American film Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, was jointly produced and distributed by Raadan Media Works, UTV, and Pyramid Saimira. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja with cinematography by Preetha Jayaraman and editing by Sathish Suriya. It released on 8 November 2007 during Deepavali. The film's title was inspired from a song from Kandukondain Kandukondain.
Ninaithale Inikkum is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language film directed by K. Balachander starring Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Jaya Prada and Geetha. The story was written by Sujatha. The film was also simultaneously shot in Telugu as Andamaina Anubhavam. A large part of the film was shot in Singapore. The film was later dubbed in Hindi as Pyara Tarana.
Sivi is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language horror film directed by K. R. Senthil Nathan and starring Yogi, Jayashri Rao and Anuja Iyer. A remake of the 2004 Thai film Shutter, Sivi was released on 21 September 2007 across theatres in Tamil Nadu.

The soundtrack was composed by Vijay Antony with cinematography by Balasubramaniem and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
Sujatha was an Indian actress who performed and starred in a variety of unique characters in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films- in addition to few in Kannada and Hindi languages as well. The actress was best known for restraint and subtlety in portrayal of varied emotions. After starring in numerous Malayalam films in her mother-tongue, Sujatha later got introduced to the Tamil film industry by veteran director K. Balachander and producer P.R. Govindarajan as a protagonist in her first Tamil film, Aval Oru Thodar Kathai (1974). It was a critically acclaimed film and launched the actress's first commecrical breakthrough in her acting career. Whereas, her first Telugu picture happened to be a Telugu/Tamil bilingual titled as Guppedu Manasu (1979) in Telugu and was simultaneously shot as Nool Veli in Tamil of the same year. She died of a cardiac arrest on 6 April 2011 in Chennai.
