Unlike the original version, the film did not reuse any songs from the former, but instead used instrumental version of the tracks. Harry Gregson-Williams, who previously worked with Caro on The Zookeeper's Wife, composed the film's score with additional music by Tom Howe and Stephanie Economou, while also adapted the original themes composed by Jerry Goldsmith for the 1998 film. The soundtrack album was released by Walt Disney Records on September 4, 2020.

The Martian is the 2015 science fiction film based on Andy Weir's 2011 novel of the same name directed by Ridley Scott. Two soundtrack albums for the film were released by Columbia Records on October 2, 2015. The first album titled The Martian: Original Motion Picture Score, features instrumental tracks from the original score composed by Harry Gregson-Williams, and the latter, featured incorporated songs used in the film, that was released as a separate album under the title Songs from The Martian. The music served as a "comic relief" to provide sarcasm where most of the songs are chosen and performed ironically.

Hacksaw Ridge (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the score album to the 2016 biographical war film Hacksaw Ridge directed by Mel Gibson. The film is scored by Rupert Gregson-Williams, who replaced John Debney, the original composer who had attached to write music for the film. The score was recorded at the Abbey Road Studios, London during September and October 2016. The score was released by Varèse Sarabande on November 4, alongside the film.

The Legend of Tarzan (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack and score album to the film of the same name featuring original music written, composed and produced by Rupert Gregson-Williams. Initially, he was set to co-write the score with Hans Zimmer, before receiving the sole credit as the film's composer. WaterTower Music released the soundtrack album digitally on June 24, 2016, followed by a physical release on July 15, 2016. It featured two songs, "Opar" co-written by Gregson-Wiliams and Lebo M and performed by Zoe Mthiyane, and "Better Love" written and performed by Hozier, which was used in the film's end credits. Anthony Clarke, Thomas Farnon, and Tom Howe are credited for additional music.
