Aquatics at the 1983 Southeast Asian Games included swimming, diving and water polo events. The three sports of aquatics were held at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex, Singapore City, Singapore. Aquatics events was held between 29 May to 3 June.

The 1964 All England Championships was a badminton tournament held at Wembley Arena, London, England from 1 to 4 April 1964.
The 1978 WBF World Championships took place in November 1978 in Bangkok, Thailand. This event was followed by Invitational Championships which took place in the month of February earlier this year in Hong Kong. It was the first of the two editions of the world championships organised by the WBF, which was a rival organisation of the Badminton World Federation.

Badminton was one of the few main sports to be inaugurated at the 1959 SEAP Games. The events were held in Bangkok, Thailand from 12 to 17 December 1959. Due to the team events being cancelled, only two competitions were held, which were men singles and in men doubles. Only Thailand, Burma and Laos took part in the events.
Badminton at the 1961 SEAP Games was held in Rangoon, Burma from 11 to 16 December in 1961. Five competitions were held in men's singles, men's doubles, women's singles, women's doubles and in mixed doubles.
