Christine Sotto Jacob-Sandejas (born April 30, 1967) known professionally as Christine Jacob, is a Filipina swimmer, actress, TV host, and newscaster.
She was born in Manila, Philippines to a German American father George Jacob and a former TV host Rosemarie (née Sotto), and grew up in the United States in her elementary years.
She and her family returned to the Philippines in 1980s. She joined Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 1983 where she won a gold medal. [2] Jacobs then competed in the swimming competition in the 1984 Summer Olympics. [3]
After joining athletics, she was requested by her aunt to co-host in Eat Bulaga! in 1990 (then airing on ABS-CBN). She became a news caster for PTV while hosting Eat Bulaga!, where she had a short-lived relationship with the main host Vic Sotto (no blood relationship to Jacob's mother). After her contract with APT Entertainment and TAPE Inc. (producer of Eat Bulaga!) expired, Jacob hosted its rival, Magandang Tanghali Bayan , in ABS-CBN (Eat Bulaga is already airing in GMA Network).
She stopped hosting in showbiz in 2001 when she became pregnant with her first child with her husband, Francisco "Paco" Sandejas. After four years, GMA Network gave her her own TV show, Mobile Kusina. This ended in early 2007.

EatBulaga! is a Philippine television noontime variety show broadcast by TV5 and RPTV. Originally aired on RPN from July 30, 1979 to February 17, 1989, it was replaced by Student Canteen. Eat Bulaga! later moved to ABS-CBN from February 18, 1989 to January 27, 1995, replacing Afternoon Delight, and was replaced by 'Sang Linggo nAPO Sila and GMA Network from January 28, 1995 to January 5, 2024. Eat Bulaga! then replaced SST: Salo-Salo Together and was replaced by Tahanang Pinakamasaya. It is the longest-running noontime variety program in the Philippines and ranks among television programs with the most episodes in history with over 13,500 episodes aired.

The 26th PMPC Star Awards for Television ceremony was held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City on November 18, 2012 and broadcast over ABS-CBN Channel 2 on November 25, 2012. The ceremony was hosted by Aga Muhlach, Kris Aquino and Toni Gonzaga and directed by Al Quinn.

In the Philippines, variety television shows have become mainstays of the noontime slot for network programming since 1958. The first Philippines noontime variety television shows were influenced by the popularity of bodabil (vaudeville) in the first half of the 20th century. Since then, the format has evolved with the changing times, with elements of reality television also incorporated as well since the 2000s. Majority of the noontime variety shows that aired on television were produced independently by blocktimers that pay a certain amount of time to television networks to air their program. Some TV networks though have managed to solely produce these kind of programs, with moderate success in terms of ratings and advertising revenues.
