Drummoyne Oval is a multi-use sports ground in the Sydney inner-west suburb of Drummoyne,New South Wales. The ground has been used for international women's cricket matches,domestic men's cricket matches and first grade rugby league as well as local Australian rules football and Rugby Union games.
The Sydney Sixers is an Australian professional franchise men's cricket team,competing in Australia's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition,the Big Bash League (BBL). Along with the Sydney Thunder,the Sixers are the successors of the New South Wales Blues who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The Sixers play at Sydney Cricket Ground at Moore Park in Sydney's eastern suburbs,whilst the Thunder play at the Sydney Showground Stadium in the city's western suburbs. Kurtis Robert Patterson is an Australian cricketer who plays for the New South Wales cricket team in the Sheffield Shield,and the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. Patterson scored a century on his first-class cricket debut for New South Wales in November 2011,becoming the youngest batsman to score a century in Sheffield Shield cricket. In January 2019,he made his Test debut for Australia against Sri Lanka,becoming the 457th person to play test cricket for Australia. He made a century in just his second test match in Canberra,also against Sri Lanka. He was not selected for the 2019 Ashes series and returned to play domestically in the 2019/2020 season. He has the highest average of any Test batsman who has lost their wicket at least once.
The 2014–15 Big Bash League season or BBL|04 was the fourth season of the Big Bash League (BBL),the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The fourth edition ran from 18 December 2014 to 28 January 2015. The league ran two weeks longer as compared to the previous season. The opening match of the 2014–15 Big Bash League was played between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars on 18 December at the Adelaide Oval. The format of fourth season is same as previous season. A total of 35 matches will be played during the Big Bash 2014–15 season.

The 2022–23 Sydney Sixers Women's season was the eighth in the team's history. Coached by Charlotte Edwards and captained by Ellyse Perry,the Sixers finished the regular season of WBBL|08 in first position and set a new league record with eleven wins. They consequently qualified for their fifth Final appearance,returning to the knockout phase of the tournament for the first time since WBBL|04. In the championship decider,held at North Sydney Oval,the Sixers were defeated in an upset by the Adelaide Strikers.
The 2022–23 Sydney Thunder Women's season was the eighth in the team's history. Coached by Trevor Griffin,the Thunder finished the regular season of WBBL|08 in last place. After missing the entirety of WBBL|07 due to family reasons,captain Rachael Haynes returned to the team in 2022–23 for her final season,having announced her impending retirement from professional cricket.
