Ashburton Domain is a cricket ground in Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground came when Ashburton County played the touring Tasmania team in 1884. [1] The ground later held its first senior match when Canterbury played Otago in the 1980/81 Shell Cup. Three further List A matches have been held on the ground, the last of which saw Canterbury play Central Districts in the 1988/89 Shell Cup. [2]

Lincoln Green is a cricket ground in Lincoln, Canterbury, New Zealand. The ground is located directly next to the Bert Sutcliffe Oval and forms part of the New Zealand Cricket Academy. The first recorded match on the ground came when New Zealand Women played New Zealand A Women team in February 1997. Later that year the ground held its first first-class match when the New Zealand Academy cricket team played Bangladesh, which the academy won against their opponents who had yet to gain Test status by an innings and 115 runs. Late the following year, the Academy played Pakistan A. Two further first-class matches were later held there in the 1998/99 Shell Conference when the Southern Conference played the Central Conference and the Northern Conference. The final first-class match held there came in 1999 when New Zealand A played the touring South Africans.

Mandeville Sports Centre is a cricket ground in Mandeville North, Canterbury, New Zealand. The ground held a single List A match in the 1990/91 Shell Cup when Canterbury played Wellington, which resulted in a 19 run victory for Wellington. A number of other sports are played at the complex.

Dudley Park is a cricket ground in Rangiora, Canterbury, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground came when North Canterbury played Central Otago in the 1963/64 Hawke Cup. A single Youth One Day International was played there in 1987 when New Zealand Young Cricketer played Australia Young Cricketers. The ground first held a List A match in the 1980/81 Shell Cup when Canterbury played Central Districts. Canterbury played six further List A matches there, the last of which came in the 1996/97 Shell Cup. Dudley Park has also hosted first-class matches, the first of which saw Canterbury play Wellington in the 1984/85 Shell Trophy. Fourteen further first-class matches have been held there, the last of which saw Canterbury play Wellington in the 2002/03 State Championship. The ground has twice held the final of the Shell Trophy, with Canterbury winning on both occasions.

Chertsey is a town in the Ashburton District, of New Zealand's South Island. It is located close to State Highway 1, which bypasses the town to the west, between Ashburton and Rakaia on the Canterbury Plains. According to the 2013 census 2,493 people usually live with in the Chertsey District. This is an increase of 288 people, or 13.1 percent, since the 2006 Census.

The Australian cricket team toured New Zealand in January and February 1881. The Australians played ten matches against provincial teams, nine of which fielded 22 players with the aim of providing more evenly-matched contests. Two further brief matches were played to fill the allotted time after a scheduled match finished early. As none of the matches were 11-a-side they are not considered to have been first-class.
