Aspergillus trinidadensis is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus . It belongs to the group of black Aspergilli that are used in industry to create enzymes and other products.^[2]^[3]^[4] It is from the Nigri section.^[1] The species was first described in 2012.^[1]

Growth and morphology

A. trinidadensis has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
