The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe. The first Mediterranean Games were held in 1951 in Alexandria, Egypt, while the following games are scheduled to be held in 2022 in Oran, Algeria.
The VII Mediterranean Games – Algiers 1975, commonly known as the 1975 Mediterranean Games, were the 7th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Algiers, Algeria, from 23 August to 6 September 1975, where 2,444 athletes from 15 countries participated. There were a total of 160 medal events from 19 different sports.
Argyro Strataki is a Greek former heptathlete. She represented her country at the Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008. She was also a four-time participant at the World Championships in Athletics and a three-time competitor at the European Athletics Championships. Her personal best for the heptathlon is 6235 points – a Greek record.

Enzo Del Forno is a retired Italian high jumper who won three medals at the International athletics competitions.

Boualem Rahoui is a retired Algerian long-distance runner. He specialized in the 3000 metres steeplechase, 5000 metres and 10,000 metres.
Ivan Ivančić was a Bosnian-Croatian athletics coach and shot putter who represented Yugoslavia. He was the gold medalist in the 1975 Mediterranean Games, as well as a multiple national champion and record holder. As a coach, Ivančić specialized in the throwing events, and was best known for coaching Sandra Perković, an Olympic and two-time European discus throw champion.

Pasqualino Abeti is an Italian former sprinter who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was part of the Italian 4 × 100 m relay team that won the gold medal at the 1971 Mediterranean Games.

The 2013 Mediterranean Games, officially known as the XVII Mediterranean Games and commonly known as Mersin 2013, was an international multi-sport event held from 20 to 30 June 2013 in Mersin, Turkey. Mersin was announced as the host city at the General Assembly of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM) on 23 February 2011. Mersin is the second city in Turkey after İzmir to host the Mediterranean Games. All 24 member National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the ICMG participated in the Games. The official programme for the Games is featuring events in 27 different sports.
The 2022 Mediterranean Games, officially known as the XIX Mediterranean Games and commonly known as Oran 2022, is a forthcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to be held from 25 June to 5 July 2022 in Oran, Algeria. Oran was announced as the host city at the ICMG General Assembly in Pescara, Italy, on 15 August 2015.
Vitolio Tipotio is a French track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. Born in Wallis and Futuna, he competed for his native nation at the South Pacific Games, winning a bronze in 1995 and a silver in 1999.
