Attention Please is the seventeenth studio album by the Japanese experimental band Boris. The album was released on May 24, 2011, through the label Sargent House. Its original release date was April 26, but this was pushed back. [9] The album features vocals in every track sung by Wata. [10]
Attention Please marks a departure from the Heavy Rocks sound, returning to the dream pop sound explored on New Album , but this time, it has elements from noise pop, This is their release without announcement.
The album was released on the same day and label as Heavy Rocks , with which it shares the song title "Aileron." [11] The album features the tracks "Party Boy", "Hope", Les Paul Custom '86" and "Spoon" from New Album in altered forms. [12] "Party Boy" and "Les Paul Custom '86" additionally have third versions on the Japanese New Album vinyl release.
A version of "Tokyo Wonder Land" was previously released on the Golden Dance Classics split release with 9dw.
Initial track list information included "16:47:52" (previously available on Japanese Heavy Rock Hits ) as track 6, but the official preorder revealed it is replaced by "You." [13]
On February 25, the label released the track "Hope" as the only single from the album. [14]
On May 16, NPR Music streamed Attention Please in its entirety. [15]
Musically, Attention Please consists of electropop, [6] shoegaze, [6] and pop metal styles. [4] It also takes on the edge of post-punk, [8] with the "angular" style influencing Wata's guitar work. [7]
Attention Please was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 72 based on 20 reviews. [1]
In a review for AllMusic, critic reviewer Thom Jurek wrote: "Attention Please comes as a very noteworthy and distinctive album in Boris' large and labyrinthine catalog, whether one likes it or not. It is their first to feature vocals on all tracks by lead guitarist Wata. The music is nocturnal, relatively slinky, and very atmospheric." [2]

Boris is a Japanese band formed in 1992 in Tokyo and composed of drummer Atsuo, guitarist/bassist Takeshi, and guitarist/keyboardist Wata. All three members contribute vocals. Their work has drawn variously on styles such as sludge metal, drone, noise, psychedelia, and minimalism. Boris has released more than 20 studio albums on various labels around the world, as well as a variety of live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, and collaborative albums. They have collaborated with acts such as Sunn O))), Merzbow, Keiji Haino, and guitarist Michio Kurihara.
Keys to the World is the third studio album by English singer-songwriter Richard Ashcroft. It was released 23 January 2006, reaching number 2 in the UK Albums Chart. Ashcroft worked on the album at State of the Ark Studios and Julian Kershaw wrote string arrangements for some of the songs later recorded by London Metropolitan Orchestra. Strings are featured on eight songs on the album which also features electric viola on some tracks – played by Bruce White. The engineer/producer of this album was Chris Potter, and being his final solo album for a decade, until These People (2016).

The triple-vinyl edition by Southern Lord contains all of the songs from their two-CD edition, additional pictures, and liner notes by Kim Thayil. The Daymare 3LP version was released March 23, 2007 and features a bonus track not found on any other version of this release: "The Sinking Belle ".

The band repeated the album title for this release because they "seek to redefine 'heavy' music in a culmination of the band's tireless efforts over the past two decades".

Primitive and Deadly is the eighth studio album by American musical group Earth. It was released on September 2, 2014, through Southern Lord Records. The album, which features Mark Lanegan and Rabia Shaheen Qazi of Rose Windows as guest vocalists, is the first Earth album since Pentastar: In the Style of Demons (1996) to feature vocals. Japanese Heavy Rock Hits is a collection of singles by the Japanese experimental band Boris. Volume 1 was released on September 14, 2009 through the label Southern Lord Records; the successive volumes followed one per month afterward. Artwork for each single is in a glam rock cliché and features a single band member whose style is prominent on the songs on the accompanying release; the fourth single, a cover song, has a transparent PVC sleeve, and was bundled with preorders of the series along with a T-shirt. The only physical release was on separate 7" vinyl records, though digital versions in MP3 and FLAC were available from online retailers.

The band described the album as both a celebration of their 30th anniversary and as part of a continuous evolution in their music. The album was preceded by the singles "She Is Burning", "Question 1", and "My Name Is Blank".
