The Attorney General of Abia State is the chief legal and law enforcement officer of Abia State. It is the executive branch of government that has its official appointed by the Governor with the approval of the Abia State House of Assembly. [1]

The Attorney General who jointly serves as the Commissioner of Justice is responsible for the supervising and defending of the law and constitution of Abia State. [2]

The incumbent Chief Judge is Justice Lilian Abai, who was appointed into the position by Alex Otti in May 2023.

Incumbent PDP Governor Okezie Ikpeazu won re-election for a second term, defeating APC's Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, and several minor party candidates. The major contenders for the race signed a peace accord agreement in January 2019.
