Auckland United Football Club is an amateur football club based in Mount Roskill, New Zealand.

Formed in 2020 as an amalgamation between Onehunga Sports and Three Kings United, Auckland United currently competes in the Northern League, one of three qualifying leagues for the New Zealand National League and New Zealand Women's National League. [1] [2] [3]

The club also competes in the Chatham Cup and Kate Sheppard Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournaments for men and women respectively. [4] Both teams received byes in the 2021 Chatham Cup and 2021 Kate Sheppard Cup for the preliminary [5] and first round, along with other ranked teams. [6] [7] [8] The men got their first win of the Chatham Cup when they beat Cambridge 9–0, [9] [10] [11] the women's team also won their first game 9–0 over Papamoa FC in the Kate Sheppard Cup. [9] [12] [13] In 2023, the Auckland United women's team won the NRFL Premiership [14] and the New Zealand Women's National League. [15]

    The New Zealand National League is the name given to the current New Zealand top football competition. Originally set up as the New Zealand National Soccer League there has been many versions of the competition as well as many different names. The most common format saw club teams play each other, at least two times, on a home and away basis. At the completion of those games, the best-performing team was declared as the New Zealand champion.     The 2022 Kate Sheppard Cup was New Zealand's women's 28th annual knockout football competition. This was the fifth year that the competition is known by the Kate Sheppard Cup, or New Zealand Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup for sponsorship purposes, after previously been known as the Women's Knockout Cup since its establishment. The cup has had thirteen different winners lift the trophy over its 28-year history with Lynn-Avon United from Auckland being the most successful and Wellington United being the current holders from the 2021 season.

    The 2023 New Zealand Men's National League was the third season of the National League since its restructuring in 2021. 32 clubs compete in the competition, with four qualifying from the Northern League, three qualifying from the Central League and two qualifying from the Southern League for the National Championship phase. Each team can field a maximum of four foreign players as well as one additional foreign player who has Oceania Football Confederation nationality. Over the course of the season, each team must also ensure players aged 20 or under account for 10% of available playing minutes.

    The 2024 season is the 21st in the history of Auckland City Football Club. In addition to the domestic league, the club is participating in the Chatham Cup for the fourth time and the OFC Champions League for the 19th time. They also qualified for the inaugural edition of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup by winning the OFC Champions League.
