The Australian Venture is an event for Australian Venturer Scouts. It is their equivalent of a Jamboree, but for Venturers there is a lot more freedom and latitude in what they do. There is a number of on site activities and also an off site expedition, normally totaling about 12 days long.

The last Australian Venture was at Lardner Park, Victoria, 2024. The theme for this Venture was "Go Places" and it was the 18th Australian Venture. [1] The event which spanned two weeks was run in January 2024 with over 1000 people from around Australia and New Zealand. The event included over 20 expeditions around Australia, Fiji and New Zealand, making it the largest Venture in over 20 years. [2]

Past Ventures


Ventures have been cancelled due to other events such as the Covid-19 Pandemic which saw Oz Venture 2021, Sydney, New South Wales cancelled.

Venturer Scouts, formerly Senior Scouts, and commonly known simply as Venturers, is the fourth section of Scouts Australia, and was first formed in 1946. Venturers are aged between 14.5 and 18 years of age and are organised into Units, which can be a part of a single Scout Group or a stand-alone group. Both types of Unit take Scouts from any Scout Group. Although not in common usage, the motto of the Venturer Scout section in Australia is "Look Wide".

Scouting in South Australia began in 1908.

Scouting in Western Australia is predominantly represented by a branch of Scouts Australia and Girl Guides Western Australia, a member organisation of Girl Guides Australia.

The Australian Scout Jamboree is a jamboree which is held every three years by Scouts Australia. The Jamboree is traditionally held in early January and typically runs for ten nights.

The 2018–19 Women's National Cricket League season was the 23rd season of the Women's National Cricket League, the women's domestic limited overs cricket competition in Australia. The tournament started on 21 September 2018 and finished on 9 February 2019. Defending champions New South Wales Breakers won the tournament for the 20th time after topping the ladder and beating Queensland Fire in the final.

The 2022–23 Women's National Cricket League season was the 27th season of the Women's National Cricket League, the women's domestic limited overs cricket competition in Australia. The tournament ran from 23 September 2022 to 25 February 2023.

The 2023–24 Women's National Cricket League season is the ongoing 28th season of the Women's National Cricket League, the women's domestic limited overs cricket competition in Australia. The tournament is running from 22 September 2023 to 23 February 2024. Seven teams compete in a double round-robin tournament. Tasmania are the defending champions.
