Highway system

The C-65 is a highway linking Junction 7 of the Autopista AP-7 and the resorts of the Costa Brava. [1]

It passes to the south of Girona, Quart, Cassà de Selva, Llagostera, Santa Cristina d'Aro and Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The road has been upgraded in parts to Autovia grade. It carries particularly heavy traffic in summer and weekends as tourists and residents of Girona head to the coast.

It has junctions with the C-31 to Palamós and C-35. [2]

C-25 or Eix Transversal is a 280 km long primary highway in Catalonia, Spain. It crosses the Catalan Transversal Range mountainous region, connecting the northern end of the Catalan Coastal Depression with the Catalan Central Depression.

Barcelona Metro line 9 Rapid transit line in Barcelona, Spain

Line 9 is a line of the Barcelona Metro network that is currently under construction, with 24 stations open in Barcelona and El Prat de Llobregat, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet suburbs, since December 2009. The line is divided in two branches, with a connecting segment between them yet to be built. The Aeroport T1 – Zona Universitària section is called L9 South, and the La Sagrera – Can Zam section L9 North. Upon completion, it will be the longest underground metro line in Europe.

R3 (Rodalies de Catalunya)

The R3 is a line of Rodalies de Catalunya's Barcelona commuter rail service, operated by Renfe Operadora. It runs northwards from the Barcelona area to the French border town of Latour-de-Carol, passing through the Vallès Oriental, Osona and Ripollès regions. With a total line length of 165.9 kilometres (103.1 mi), it extends notably beyond the limits of the Barcelona metropolitan area, reaching the Pyrenees mountains. According to 2008 data, the line's average weekday ridership is 22,841.

Catalan Transversal Range

The Catalan Transversal Range is a system of minor mountain ranges at the eastern end of the Pre-Pyrenees, between the Osona and Garrotxa comarques. The existence of the Catalan Transversal Range has made communications in the northern areas of Catalonia difficult in the past, especially between Northeastern Catalonia and Western Catalonia, a problem that has been partly solved with the development of the Eix Transversal.

Antoni Ballero de Càndia is an Italian poet and lawyer, member of La Palmavera society. Almost all of his works are in the Catalan language.

Domènec Fita i Molat Spanish artist

Domènec Fita i Molat was a Spanish artist. Having studied in different schools of classical fine arts, his work was gradually stripped of academicism, as evidenced already in his first notable works: the Recumbent Christ (1958), the Cathedral of Girona, and Saint Benedict (1961) the abbey of Montserrat. The mural painting or on different media, initially and primarily of religious subjects, but also the drawing (themes retrat, nus and bestiari, ceramics, concrete, stained glass, the use of polyurethane, stone, and alabaster, iron, steel, wood and various other materials have shaped the course of fifteen years of intensive work, producing a multi-faceted and difficult rating, which has derived a radical abstraction, based on a systematic search, serial and unpredictable, avoiding the isms in use.

Catalan dialects

The dialects of the Catalan language feature a relative uniformity, especially when compared to other Romance languages; both in terms of vocabulary, semantics, syntax, morphology, and phonology. Mutual intelligibility between its dialects is very high, estimates ranging from 90% to 95%. The only exception is the isolated idiosyncratic Alguerese dialect.

Santa Maria, Roses

Santa Maria de Roses is a ruined Benedictine monastery in the municipality of Roses, Alt Empordà comarca, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated within the Ciutadella de Roses, a fortification in the Province of Girona. It is the earliest known example of Lombard architectural style in the country.

Joan Bastardas i Parera was a Catalan Latinist and Romance philologist, the son of the lawyer and politician Albert Bastardas i Sampere. He studied at the University of Barcelona, with Marià Bassols de Climent, and wrote a PhD dissertation on Medieval Latin syntax, for which he received the Antonio de Nebrija Prize (1951). He was also indirectly a student of the Swedish Latinist Dag Norberg.
